Yeah, to reiterate, the Baron's men running loose after he left shows, that for all his faults, he was actually a good ruler. He never abused his power, which is a downright rarity in the setting. Though despite what Fauna says, there's little chance of Geralt stepping in to become Baron. On meditating, I realize the reasons for this. For one, the Bloody Baron is a known quantity. His men were former Temerian soldiers taught to obey the military chain-of-command. These are men who inherently believe in the hierarchy with the Baron on top because that's what kept them alive on the battlefield. Secondly, they only continue to follow him because he has a deal with the invading Nilfgaardians, which would see him elevated to becoming a Nilfgaardian noble. So his men have a continued interest in following him because they'll be promoted alongside him when Nilfgaard finally consolidates its rule over the region. Thirdly, he is an ex-Temerian, which makes him more sympathetic to the local citizens. These are the main pillars of his authority. Geralt has none of this. He has nothing to offer anybody that would make people want to see him rule as a baron. And Geralt himself wouldn't stay in one place and has his own worries with finding Ciri.

I liked the Baron's story, but golly they like their stories to end in bittersweet or just not sweet at all. You should look up what happens to everyone involved if you had saved the spirit instead of betraying it Was expecting something bittersweet with the Pesta too, but nope, you just got the bitter Loving how much you're enjoying this, and hope you feel better

What even would be a good ending. I feel like people keep forgetting that his wife and daughter fled, because he was a violent, abusive drunk. The Baron being allowed to take care of his disabled wife and trying to make up for his past mistakes seems decent enough, even though Anna did not deserve to go through that much trauma.

Geralt and his brothers in the School of the Wolf gets a happy ending though. Witcher 3 is basically developer fan fiction that continues off where the books left off. He and Yenn died at the end of the books and CDPR basically ran it all back to a happily ever after instead. Also depending on how you handle a later side quest, Johnny gets a girlfriend. They are a wholesome couple.

The surprise Witcher stream really caught me off guard today, you're gonna give me a heart attack! These streams are quickly becoming a fave of mine, they're very comfy! Haunted islands. plague maidens, and girl dinner with Keira oh my! And don't worry about doing so many side quests, take your time enjoying them they're what make the game so great!

Dev creates the Baron as the first main quest NPC is a very brilliant design. Yes he is not a good and sometimes just a pure jerk. But sometimes he is a nice dude you can hang out with. “everything is not black and white” since you first get into the story and keep reminding you every moment to the end.

Navigating that area in white orchard threw me for a loop too. You can't just skyrim your way around. There are other areas later in the game that are worse to navigate, but by then you've gotten used to your limits. Though you can spam roll to get up some hills Gerald would otherwise slide down, so there is a bit of skyrim in there.
