@@soulhunter4849 Well, full mail hauberk is actually heavier than full plate armor cause plate armor is supported on the waist, shoulders etc. the weight is distributed over the entire body while mail only hangs from shoulders and pushes you down. You can move more easily in plate than in mail, that's scientifically proven.

The thing that really bothers me about the Witcher is that most of the armor in the game looks like fancy clothes. I want metal plates, not skirts and flashy looks.

But you need to understand that Witchers don't use heavy armor. They need something that doesn't restrict their movement or slow them down, hence: leather, linen and studded cloth. In real life those are actually surprisingly protective, while also very light. Steel plating is better against arrows and crossbow bolts, but since witchers are fast enough to dodge and even deflect them, that would give them no real benefits.

Trent Weems a reason Geralt requests crafting something fit for Witchers. They've set their own design. But the fact that the game only focuses Witcher fit armors makes it limited. But whatever it's cool.

Just a viewer of your stuff You have a Nilfgaardian armour set which has more plates and chain mail than the other sets. But to be frank those don't really suit Geralt nor serve his needs. Imagine fighting a fast moving Katakan while wearing all those heavy metal plates.

And it makes more sense for a full set of plate armour to be rare and extremely expensive, I mean this is 1257 plate armour should barely exist. Full plate armour costs around 20k now with auto hammers, forges made with modern tools, access to cad and cam. So imagine the price of a full plate set in 1257.

The viper school gear from the hearts of stone dlc looks exactly like the Kaer Morhen armour, you need to buy it in the auction house quest from that old woman who knows Vesemir and then just get a master craftsman to make it for you, the armour is also the cheapest (and best) Witcher gear in the Witcher 3. But you need to be level thourty to wear it though

Griffin set all day, just a tip to you spell loving players, upgrade yrden to level 2 along with this set and your basically unstoppable and the blast disrupts most enemies animations when they're about to attack then you can set up lvl 1 yrden then go into quen or igni signs. upgrade the shield to level 2 and when your health is low put that bad boy up and let them attack you a few times and your back to full health. I LOVE THIS GAME, the combat system shits on dragon age inquisition. Happy hunting my fello gamers. ***** Great content as always.

I was wondering if there's any tough items to get in order to craft the armor and weapons. I haven't really looked into it yet. LegacyRO3 i feel like griffin is the way to go as well for mage loving ppl( like myself :P )coupled with the skill from general tree the griffin something cant remember...that high sign intensity is just bad ass...at lvl 15 with normal griffin gear i was doing the side missions and contracts with monsters in the lvl 20-25 range with little to no problems...the best def,just like in a game like dark souls for example,is to not get hit :D

buzzyx3 Agree. I refused to wear better gear because of that chest plate that makes Geralt look like the Red Baron. As long as you can dodge and make frequent use of Quen, good armour is not really that important. Trashing Golemns twice my level with just the upgraded starter chest armour.

STR33TSofJUST1C3 you won't be saying that later on in the game when you'll have to face superior foes. I started basically with the same strategy but later on realised that I need a better gear stats rather than how it looks like (was getting killed with 1 hit) . Anyway I'm at lvl 36 now with full master ursine set which is by far my favourite, Id suggest going with this armour set for its really awesome.

S. Suleiman Yeah, got the standard now. Lvl 20 and almost heading off to Skellige. Only went there for the Ursine set, then came back for all other Novigrad and Velen quests. I'm pretty good at dodging though. The only mobs that annoy me are those hybrids. Griffins, Harpies, and such. Massive AOE when they strike, and even those at your level can do some serious damage.

Use your cross bow or ARD to bring them down while their flying, also when dealing with draconoids or hybrids i really suggest brewing special oils based on the monster your fighting, for it adds 10% damage bonus and 25% if you've got enhanced alchemy diagram for it, believe me it really helps especially if your fighting a monster that is higher your level. If you also happen to have a glyph that deals armour piercing damage and equipped with your silver sword would be a plus.

Master crafted feline gear looks shitty as fuck. I usually play light armor characters in RPGs but this was kind of a letdown. It's only armor I know but thought it'd be a bit more awesome like the first design.

the complete viper set is obtainable via the quest "open sesame" in the hearts of stone expansion. you can buy the diagrams for about 350 each from the woman at the auction.

***** Its not really hard exploring Skellige, just find the merchant on Ard Skellig when you first arrive and buy his books, they give you fast travel points to all the Islands that have anything important on them, after that you just have to explore the interior of said islands, but they aren't that big.

I don't remember if I got a better saddlebag from this mission but I'll let you know anyway. Did you complete a set of races for Ingrid Vegelbud. It's during a mission in Novigrad (I won't spoil it) and by winning those races, you get really nice gear for Roach including high stamina saddles, among some other horse equipment. The Zerkkanian (I believe that's how it's spelt) is the one I have, giving me a carry weight of 160 overall. So far I haven't found a better one.

I really wished they had made an actual set for the Viper school, instead of just making it just a set of swords to use during the prologue and early stages of the game. You'd think they would have done something more considering we actually saw witchers from the Viper school in-game, and its because of those witchers have I grown fond of the school. They could have made it an alchemy focused armor set as well and grant even more bonuses to the likes of toxicity and potion use, that way all of the armor sets cater to some kind of playstyle.
