RoyalDomi It was the defining point of W1. Somehow they captured Atmosphere arguably better than even 3. Though 3 mastered just about everything else and still brought in such incredible atmosphere. Yet somehow, due to atmospheric value, W1 still contends for my top spot.

Go through a ghoul invested swamp. Strut into the tower. You're expecting a monster fight. Nothing. No corpses. No noise at all really. Just some rats and ruckus strewn about. Walking through the tower that whole time with that ominous, ambiguous, looming feeling is unforgettable. Witcher 3's such a memorable game. The game causes you to feel, think, and remember every step of your journey.
@StratosKokkaliaroglou7 жыл бұрын
Towerful of Mice was, for me, the most unique side story in the game. It's like a rift opened and you were transferred in a vastly different world. For the time it took me, I forgot I was playing Witcher 3 and was really invested in what each ghost had to say. The magic lamp mechanic, the subtle undertones of something *very bad* happening even before you enter the tower, and the final revelation...damn. If you sit and think about it, how fucking tragic that whole thing was and thinking about it, the whole Velen (SPOILERS AHEAD). People who wanted their 'share' of the rich folks' belongings, a young couple who couldn't find love, a spur-of-the-moment curse ending in the death of so many people, and most of all, the gruesome death of Anabella. I still get the shivers every time my boat goes past Fyke Island.
@Domee8946 жыл бұрын
The story is based on a very old Polish legend about a greedy king Popiel (which means "A Man of Ash") who locked himself in a tower with his family and wouldn't share food with the poor. Soon after that he and his family were eaten by rats. In Poland there still is the same tower in the same town where he was allegedly eaten. I went there once with my parents. The king himself lived allegedly before even Poland existed but you know what they say: there is a bit of truth in every legend. Every child in Poland knew this legend, it's one of the scariest probably.

I've got an uncommonly idiosyncratic sensation just through letting those enigmatically daunting notes disperse throughout my consciousness. It remembers me on the moment you helpt the red baron tracking down his wife and finally, I'm sorry if I'm wrong but than had to make the dessission what to do with his cursed child. It was just such a beautifull moment , the rain the emotion... he decided to love the child but geralt needed to lift the curse and had to kill the beast. I never forget that moment....
@StratosKokkaliaroglou7 жыл бұрын
** *SPOILERS* ** Well, you can actually save it by turning it into a lubberkin. You have to escort the Baron who holds the child in his arms, fight a bunch of wraiths and try to keep the botchling calm with an Axii spell whenever it squirms. If you succeed, it turns into a lubberkin and guides you to Anna and Tamara.
