Thanks for the great video Ricky. Your solitaire variant was very clever.

I bought this game for my daughter at Christmas and while we both enjoy the game, it is nice to have a solo variant to fall back upon. Thanks, Rick!

Hi Ricky. Thanks as always for another great video. I would have enjoyed a full play through of both this and the Darwin expansion for RC but I know you like to mix it up and that it takes up a lot of time. It's all appreciated and especially the little solo variants you create. Awesome job. Thanks, mate.

Originalstirrups thank you ! Yes, it's tough to do everything as a full play-through now that I want to show you more things.... Also, like you say, it offers some variety :) Meanwhile, there is a full playthrough of this variant here:kzbin.info/www/bejne/maPJh5qHi8-sppo

Loved this Ricky, great video! Been really enjoying your solo variant for this game too. Played it several times in the last few weeks!

Board Game Replay Great! it's nice and simple for a change ! How have you been getting on?
@boardgamereplay9 жыл бұрын
I agree! Been doing fairly well with wins / losses. I'd say it's been a pretty even split so far. Either way it's always a tense experience with that AI player creeping up the track every turn!

Board Game Replay 50/50 sounds like a common finding. I wonder if they balanced the game with a similar mechanism?!

Yeah good point, I'm always curious about that stuff...Maybe I'll bug Ignacy on Twitter about it or something, hah!

Thanks for showing us the game. It does not look like a game that I am burning to play, but I wouldn't have known that had I not seen you or someone else play it.

Interesting game. Looks great. Love the solo variant. I play a lot of my games solo so this is a game I would pick up. As always, great video.

John McGuinness thank John! what's your favourite solo game?
@johnmcguinness97329 жыл бұрын
Right now I would probably have to put D-Day Dice (love wargames), Cards of Cthulhu (big Lovecraft fan), and Pandemic (first true cooperative game I played, and have fallen in love with trying different combinations and strategies) at the top of my list. In the past it was probably some sports board games (Statis-Pro Baseball) and a few smaller historical wargames (like Battle for Germany or Chickamauga).

I really enjoyed this playthrough and I´m definitely going to try this solo variant. What a tense ending!
@BoxofDelights9 жыл бұрын
Juan Pablo Zabala it was a whisker away! Some of the quests can earn you more like 12 or 16 VPs... it's tense chasing those down watching the opponent race away....

I have the ios version which is ok & provides opportunity to play against an AI but as I mostly play board games solo, it's nice to see it possible with the physical copy of the game (something deeply satisfying about the tactile nature of a giant fully illustrated game board & handfuls of components over a computer versions, I feel)...another excellent video curse you Ricky....and now another game I shall have to save up for & buy (shame it's so pricy)

Awesome. I did not know this had a solo variant. I can learn the game better that way before it gets to the table as I just started my group, which are people who are still fairly new to this hobby. I also play with my 6 year old niece.

Kristen Barrett good luck with the new game group. Have lots of fun! Rick (p.s. the solo variant is just one I made up)

***** thanks Eric! Maybe the solo variant will help make that happen?!

Yes, the game does become too easy. So, I made the dummy lose two points when the player completes the main quest.Kind regards.

Thanks for this video (even though I was hoping for the next Robinson Crusoe scenarios haha) - I haven't seen any video of this game before, so, by only having watched this one, is this game really that much fun as a solitaire game? Can you feel the theme while playing as in Robinson Crusoe?
@BoxofDelights9 жыл бұрын
Kelison Cask that is going to be a purely person perspective so difficult to answer. Certainly Robinson is much stronger and will always be a top-3 game for me I think. The Witcher is quick to set up and play and much easier on the brain :)
@kevinliebing45669 жыл бұрын
Ok, for fast setup and rather quick gameplay I should give it a try :) [I'm a bit critical since having tried Mice&Mystics, which offers a really really nice thematic gameplay, but on the other hand a very dry mechanism in my opinion. However, this isn't the right place to discuss this :) ]

Kelison Cask sounds like we have similar thoughts!

I really enjoyed the video and the playthrough! Thank you! Just a question: where I can find a file with your personal variant? I took a look at your site but I haven't found it.
