I always call them kikimora as the first Witcher game had hungarian dub and they used this name (I guess due to the direct translation from polish than English) and if I remember well it is used in the Witcher netflix show as well.

Better late than never, to the comment trough - life gets in the way. I've been seeing this view count grow in "giant-bugs-disgust-yet-morbid-curiosity" fashion. Arachnids combined with insects, combined additionally with crustaceans, in oversized form. The Witcher's is a universe whose fantastical bestiary pays tribute to the vastness and variety of the real insect world. Kikimore warriors' spit is damned annoying; whereas the endregas warriors' tail is more intimidating, personally. And that itself seems less concerning than having to encounter any gigascorpion, in-game. I prefer the kikimore design of the first Witcher game, as well. Iconic, indeed. Thank you, GrimDark Narrator.

I'd say kikimores are on the tamer side of scary or disgusting when it comes to witcher insectoids. There's way more scary things out there.

I mean, there are some... giant spiders in the woods. the jabberwock should have some insectoid feature (even if the model doesn't show it), the great maw for the ogres looks like a huuuuge worm eating thing. The undead crabs for the vampire coast, but anyway, pretty sure there are some things like these in the forest of Sylvania and Lustria! worst case scenario, you can homebrew from those places...?

Truely creatures from hell. Glad to see that Grimdark narror hates them as much as i do

I'd say they're not so bad. There's far worse things in the witcher, both lorewise and gameplay wise.

i know it can be sparce and confusing, but would you ever consider doing some elden ring lore? that shit is as fascinating as it is confusing.
@GrimDarkNarrator2 жыл бұрын
I don't think I'd be qualified for that. I didn't play the game, and I'm not a huge fan of Soulsborne games. I did play a good deal of DS1 and 3 and I'll probably play Elden Ring someday, but I'm not a fan of their "read all item descriptions to figure out what's remotely even happening" approach.
