Note: For those unfamiliar with how this channel operates and are confused about the lack of references to the events of the 2008 "The Clone Wars" series; This is the Pre-TCW history of the Dathomir Witches as I intend to preserve it. As many are aware, the 2008 Clone Wars series has massive difficulty fitting into the continuity of the "Legends" timeline so instead of trying to make up unofficial explanations on how events fit in like so many others including Wookieepedia does, I just ignore TCW and it's direct tie-in material altogether. The only extrapolation I do in this video is retcon the TCW references out of newer EU works such as the Fate of the Jedi series that otherwise fit fine within the "Legends" continuity apart from a few small references to what transpires in TCW, and reintroduce concepts that TCW retconned that made far more sense continuity wise. Most notably, I've omitted the blatant changes to Dathomir's ecology, the fact that the Witches are no longer humans but a near human species called "Dathomiri", and the existence of the Zabrak "Nightbrothers". By doing this, I effectively remove the damage that TCW did to the Legends timeline by introducing outlandish concepts such as Dathomir being more involved in the galactic community pre-post-ROTJ, the Nightsisters being the only Witch clan on Dathomir (there were many and only the Nightsisters were "dark side" users), the concept that Dathomrian was a race and not a culture (many Dathomir Witches were human and other humanoids), the concept of Nightbrothers and Dathomirian Zabraks that overall didn't fit with many post Return of the Jedi media. Such as "The Courtship of Princess Leia" which first introduced Dathomir and the Witches of Dathomir and was instrumental in shaping the direction of the entire post-ROTJ era. This allows for a more complete history of the Dathomir Witches while maintaining the integrity of the continuity of the "Legends" timeline.
