Death can refer to many things but you may also interpret it as the end of something or an end of a journey, which is probably why she freaked because she mightve thought that the cards are telling her that it’ll be the end of her journey with courtney, or the end of their relationship. on the other hand she could also interpret the cards as the end of her highschool journey (since she is going to college) and the end of her current state of relationship with courtney (obviously itll change once they become long distance)

She read the cards wrong. The lovers was on point, and so was the three of swords. But death doesn’t represent actual endings so much as changes and new chapters in someone’s life. It could have meant a breakup, but it could also just as easily meant their relationship expanding to the next level and them growing as individuals AND a couple. I’m leaning towards the individuals theory bc as much as you love someone, you can’t base your identity off of them. To be a strong partner, you have to be a strong person first. And even though it may hurt (three of swords, hello), change can be good. And change is as inevitable as it is needed.
