This piece is so dear to my heart.Knowing the Composer in person and the power of music with regards to what he went through as a child and being "Saved" by music. Where it says "Ti mama mapa du ra i,Usaote i du ra tawa"(Mom where are you going,take me with) not only for me,speaks about that incident but a lot of opportunities that went by ,a lot of dream gone, a lot.... Thank you for this rendition too.😭❤

To have called the KHOIKHOI gowas or language 'Nama/Damara was an act of continued ǀAOǂNAGUB or genocide.. KHOIKHOI this First language of South Africa, the language of #SarahBaartman and the many KHOI including the Namaqua people forced to call ourselves Coloured and to call Afrikaans our mother tongue..
