The bonuses to the shield makes sense from a dm/narrative stand point. When Ersoulon found out the connection between his shield and his family he created a deep emotional attachment to the shield. He will never trade it. And if he is forced to so for a better shield it will feel bad for Lou and the narrative. So the bonus, while astronomically large now, will not be so by the end of the campaign. It’s long game vision

Also, it is a gift from the Witch of the World's Heart, crafted to fit Eursulon in every state of being, glamoured and unglamoured. Ame says that "there is nothing that cannot be fixed with hard work and care," which we see come to fruition here - the same day Eursulon gains his new title as Guardian of the Witch of the World's Heart.

Thanks for bringing up what I wrote in the discord about the witch auras! To expand, I have a feeling that Ame's would be Sanctuary, which I believe is the first spell she cast.

I see it going one of two ways Indry is allied with Ame and merora is trying to get rid of her and hekaya or grimore being the swing vote ooooor Its the opposite, the witches that seem hostile are actually looking out for ame. Indry and hekaya may not be so goodly and gracious as they present themselves. It would explain why merara met with wren beforehand and kind of tipped her off. I could see grimore being convinceable because she seems to be all about strength and tenacity and that might be something she respects in wizards

You have to understand that it is a three person party with one tank and two squishies. It kind of makes sense, Brennen, is powering up the martial character, to keep him up to power with the casters.
