I had rescued a young Northern Timber Wolf, after I found his mother, who had been shot. I followed her trail to the den. She had only one pup. I raised him until his family called. He'd come visit on occasion, but his visits finally stopped. Thirty five years later, I still miss him.

@ladyhawk111 I lived in the North Woods of Michigan and had rescued a baby Northern Timber Wolf, whose mother had been killed. I often howled to her pack to keep them near. As she got older she would often leave for longer and longer periods. The last I saw her she came to me Pregnant. She rubbed against me and left. I still think of her. Well, wolves don't JUST howl to or at the moon. They howl in day, night, afternoon, morning, any season, time, ect. Anytime really. They mostly do it at night simply because that's when wolves are most active. Hope this helped! I've been studying wolf language, behavior, ect. and I need to learn much more! If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask. I might not be able to answer all questions. Most of them though... :)

That is so cool, Recently i have become aware of my Cherokee heritage and i have always loved wolves. when i was a kid, at 14 yrs old, i was incarcerated in juvenile detention 18 mos out of 2 years for shooting at wolf poachers, in new mexico But they didnt go to jail,not fair... i am on a mission to stop the killing of wolves.

@flarewolf01 Me too! i have practiced wolf howls my entire life... If only my dogs would join in too! you know wolves are beautiful creatures. They are the true voice of nature. Wolves are strong beautiful leaders and they have laws that must be followed. The only reason people fear them is because they don't understand the laws that the wolves have! Howl for the wolves!
