the line is actually we will make an Ivring out of you--- this is a reference to Henry Irving who is a very famous actor round turn of the century

There are liberties taken, but the script as written is purposely vague as to the staging so any production can have a unique presentation--- the only changes to the text was made in the scene involving the rescue of the dog from the marshes (this was done for staging purposes). Otherwise, the only other addition we made was the music--- which I not noted in the script. I was able to procure a talented young composer to write a "score". We decided that the Woman should have a theme, a child's nursery tune, to create more of a presence even when she is not visible--- think like the shark in Jaws, when the Da Dun music plays, you subconsciously see the shark, though it is not really there "per se". Some concessions were made in the interest of time and budget, but overall the show was very effective

jaelly Cookie not sure what you are asking. The young actor plays only the young Arthur role. The old actor plays old Arthur and all the other parts along the story including Jerome. Hope that answers your question.

Do what? Perform the show? You must occur the rights and pay whatever the fee per performance is. Which is what we did.

Fitzjamie 1 no. Samuel French I believe holds the copyright and you must request permission to perform it. Once granted you pay $75 per performance. But it’s tricky. Rights can be granted and later taken away at anytime. I tried to mount a production of Deathtrap that was canceled by them no reason whatsoever, but that is the danger any amateur production can face.
