Nice talk. I have hard time understanding what the limiting factor for population growth is for hunter gather societies. The resources were abundant, they were well nourished and they had a lot of free time for baby making. Why does the hunter gather societies not follow standard biological population dynamics with a rise in population as long as resource are abundant and then followed by decrease in population due to resource scarcity or disease or something like that? If someone could link me some articles explaining the population dynamics of hunter gather societies I would much appreciate it. :)

I dont have a source at hand, but I heard antropologists say that h-g societies used to split to cap population around 300, as more than this would get too hard to keep as egalitarian
