- The condition (ref. John 14:15-16). When we obey and love Jesus.
1) WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?
- He is a person. He carries the characteristics of a person. (ref. John 14:26, Isaiah 63:10, Ephesians 4:30). He is a person sent to help us.
- In the last days, the Holy Spirit says there will be a great falling away.
- The Holy Spirit is divine and the God Head.
- He is an unseen guest in every conversation. He sees every thought and imagination, secrets and desires of your heart.
- He leads you into all truth. (ref. John 14:17). He praises and gives acknowledgement to God.
- He was working and hovering over creation. (Genesis 1:2). When he moved, everything moved into order.
- The Holy Spirit is part of the 3 persons of the God head (Gen. 1:26)
2. THE HOLY SPIRIT LOOKS FOR PEOPLE SO THAT THE POWER OF GOD CAN MOVE ON THEM AND MANIFEST THROUGH THEM.
- This is the first moment where the Holy Spirit moved onto a person (Judges 3:10)
- The Holy Spirit moved in the life of Samson. (Judges 14:6)
- The Holy Spirit moved on Saul (1 Sam. 10:6, 10:9)
- The Holy Spirit moved onto David (1 Sam. 16:13, 17:48-51)
- The Holy Spirit moves onto Gideon (Judges 7:12-13, 6:34, 7:2-4,7,19-25)
- For Gideon all he needed was the Holy Spirit against a huge army.
3. GOD SENT THE HOLY SPIRIT TO HELP US.
- The Holy Spirit is our biggest advantage (John 16:7)
- We have access to the Holy Spirit.
- He will teach you all things and bring to remembrance all things he has said to you. The Holy Spirit is the advocate. The Holy Spirit was called to walk alongside you (John 14:26)
- Recognise the Holy Spirit is inside you, behind you, in front of you, above you and right beside you.
- The Holy is our attorney he stands to claim our rights as a citizen of the Kingdom of God.
- We need to be warned that we must not grieve the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 63:10).
- In all the sufferings of the Israelites, God was also suffering because he carries our pain. So as a result, he personally came down and rescued them, lifted and carried them through all the years (Isaiah 63:9).
4. DON’T GRIEVE THE HOLY SPIRIT
- We need to discover that rebelling against God grieves the Holy Spirit. (Isaiah 63:10).
- You rebel against God the Holy Spirit turns against you.
- Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit is also in the New Testament (Ephesians 4:30)
- Get rid of all evil behaviour (Ephesians 4:31)
- Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving just as God through Christ has forgiven you (Ephesians 4:32).
- Remember when Saul lost the Holy Spirit as a result, he lost the kingdom and lost the anointing and lost his life.
- Remember when Samson lost the Holy Spirit as a result, he lost his eyes and died blind.
- You will never be short of successes; abundance will come to you if you hold on to the Holy Spirt and the anointing which is the most precious thing we can have in life.
