All that clinging and climbing is also creating DRAG and making it less efficient. Look at the guy spinning the hand mixer. All that added weight as it climbs causes more drag and even changes the balance as it turns.
@andrewevanoff11926 жыл бұрын
How can you SEE oxidation in the bottle of oil????? It can only be determined in the chemical laboratory. BTW, the extreme clinging effect may not be beneficial for gear oils. Gear oil not only lubricates but plays a huge role as a gear coolant thus transferring heat away from the gears. Slow oil circulation will reduce the heat transfer. I'm not an oil specialist but this is just common sense and a bit of technical knowledge.

Artech lubricants manufactures a similar lubricant. This product is specific to certain gear boxes. As I read comments on auto differentials i whole wholeheartedly agree, this is not the lube for that. This type of "climbing' gear oil is specific to certain "tall" large gear boxes with specific requirements. With that said, we also produce a high performance gear oil for differentials, transfer cases which rely on the "fling" off of the lubricant to reach other bearing and gear surfaces.
@MytuberifyАй бұрын
Agree with another commenter, the clinging does add some drag. I use a competing brand where the drag is noticed at colder temps. It does reduce to not noticeable at operating temp. My colleagues uses Omega on his Harley and loves it. Please redo your demonstration with an expected operating temp of the oil. Im not changing back to the "usual" oils but the op.temp demo would be nice. Once ive spent what i have i will move to Omega because this type of oil has made a clear difference is gear shifting and noice.

I'm curious how this would work in an automotive differential - specifically a live axle, where the flinging action of the gear oil is necessary to lubricate pinion bearings, carrier bearings, and the wheel bearing all the way at the end of the axle tube

@sovlubuk6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. Omega 690 has actually saved gearboxes from malfunctioning from bearings which haven't been lubricated properly. The gear oil can climb and cling to the bearing so it will provide lubrication to this area.

So this adhesive oil will now create more resistance and more friction thus lowering your HP? God forbid this has to flow though narrow channels.. it;ll just clog eveything up especially when there is debris/gunk in the suspension. Ill take the oil on the LEFT please
@sovlubuk5 жыл бұрын
Omega 690 actually reduces friction and the temperature of your gearbox, increasing HP. Most wear occurs during start up, our product leaves 5 layers of protection on the gears for start up. The product has reduced the temperature of differentials and gearboxes of motorsport cars by 25°C in some cases. We advise to fully flush any debris out before applying our oil.

It would work in small quantities hypothetically as a speed reducer and generally thickener to reduce wear and tear. Needs to fling a bit to reach other places in transmission tho. It would be good in manual trans for slowing down syncros before shifting. A pint or more would help thicken up the 75-80 oil that's too weak for a trans. Chevys started going through trans like hot cakes when switching to lighter gear box oil. Once heated 75-80 is same as 10-40... Far too thin.
