The World's Fastest Police Cars

The Dubai police force are the proud owners of a 'super fleet,' a mass of high end sports cars from all over the world. Their latest addition to the fleet is the $1.6 million dollar Bugatti Veyron, cable of doing 267mph and from 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds. However, these vehicles are not used to chase criminals, but instead as a PR mechanism. Heralded as the most progressive of the Arab police forces, they drive the fleet to various tourist attractions in Dubai as a means of connecting with citizens and tourists. Its also another way for Dubai to flaunt their enormous wealth.

That's okay. Here in the USA I have a Chevrolet Cobalt but you know what? We're happy and we have a good life. If you're happy and are content in life then who cares what you drive? Having some showy ride is great and all but despite Dubai's "money is everything" attitude, wealth does *not* make one happy in life. So long as your car is reliable, safe, and gets you where you want to go then it's all good. We both live in great countries and have much to be proud of. Besides, our families are what's truly important in life, not having some flashy police cars so the tourists will be impressed... :)

They call in a van, probably. In Germany, most patrol and chase vehicles are modified luxury sedans such as the 3 series and E-Klasse and also a few Porsche and Audi R8's that I've seen. They likewise do not have a safety partition, so if it comes down to arresting someone, the officers usually call for a van with a cage in the back to transport anyone being violent.

I wonder if they do any charity in Dubai? Do they help their less fortunate peoples whether they live in Dubai or elsewhere? We have some very wealthy people in the U.S. and they do not (from my knowledge) live the uber wealthy extravagant lifestyle of the wealthy in Dubai. I am sure they life live really well, but ..... Gates, Buffett and others do a lot of philanthropic work. I never hear of anything like that happening with all those made ultra rich with oil money in the Arab countries. If anyone knows, please post information because I would really like to know. Just at look at how they live? I begrudge no one good in their lives, personally, even though I am struggling big time. I just do the best I can and pray a lot. However, when I see things like this and other videos about the luxuries these people have, I just do not understand the necessity and see monies spent in better ways... Millions of people go to bed hungry, for example. I know our country has given funds over the years and the problem with that a lot is if that country is run by dictators or military (not good ones) that often times the funds (or food) never gets to (or very little) those in need. Not saying U.S. is perfect; seems nothing is, point is that we all can do better.

I'm in Dubai right now and they aren't kidding. The ostentatiousness of the place is mind blowing. I'd never seen a Lamborghini on the road before, but last time I was here I saw one and this time two on the same day. Sandwiched in one case between a Ferrari and a Porsche.
