Football is my whole childhood, I grew up in west Africa. We would wake up at 5:45AMAM (I still wake up today at 5:00AM automatically at 24 yo) go to school at 7 AM, come back at 3PM, play football till 6PM then we would shower and if it was our turn to get electricity we'd meet with all the friends (actually, our friends and their friends) to watch a Jakie Chan movie or some other chinese movie and if it wasn't our turn to get electricity (it was alternating days back then now we get it 24/7) we would play hide'n seek or our grandfathers or our parents or parent's friends would tell us stories, we would meet under a tree and make a circle to listen to them. Those were great times. Soccer is how we made friends and how we bonded everyday.

I’ve always said this and people called me crazy for thinking soccer is hard. Imagine having to play 45 min of soccer. Get a 10-15 min break. Then go again for another 45min + depending on the game. You cannot get any breaks and it’s straight running. Along w that your sprinting for 1/3 of the game and having to keep ur technic to kick a ball w it. It’s incredibly hard

I honestly think playing soccer for so long just built an extra level in me. I am absolutely terrible at basketball, but even when I lose and I’m exhausted, I can just keep going for some reason. I actually did this experiment when I left the Army. I had the G.I. Bill paying for my schooling so I asked the soccer coach if I could walk on because I didn’t need any scholarship money. He said absolutely young man. I was in the best shape of my life and so proud of my pink Nike soccer cleats as it was the year after they went viral in the World Cup . I only tried out as the goal keeper since the guys in my Army unit dared me to. The first 2 days of practice I couldn’t even finish the workouts in proper time, everyone was like who is this douche bag? The coach gave me every chance to stay on. Day 3 I gave up 5 goals in a single half against the Alumni team. I did block one shot and it felt like I got hit with a sledgehammer in my forearm. I will never talk bad about soccer players again. It was a very humbling experiment. I actually gave my cleats to another player who wasn’t as well off as me and thanked the coach for the opportunity after 3 days. Shout out to my boys in the 1st Battalion 3rd US Infantry Regiment and players of Northwood University. They actually won the NAIA National Championship the following year.

I still get up and have time to workout and go for a half-hour run, something easy paced, but usually during the mid-season training for my peak times, I always get some speed work in on the track. Usually repeat 400s at sub 1:35 splits. Doing between 6-8 in top shape. It's fun, much more fun than the long and easy days, but it's still time-consuming. I'm still at home and don't have many bills to pay yet, so I'm taking advantage of it while I still can and before I have to really get training hard for the police academy.

A football field is massive and you are expected to run up and down the field non stop for 45 minutes then repeat it again for another 45 minutes without losing your pace or getting tired at all. You have to have intense stamina and be very skilled at controlling the ball with your feet, kicking it perfectly where you want it to go on demand every single time, and more. In Mexico, the tv stations don't give a f*ck about interrupting the game. They just make the screen for the game smaller and put a commercial right in the middle of the game. and they have the commentator read the ad, and they do it every 2-3 minutes or so. They do this because the two biggest broadcast companies own teams in the league, so it's all within the family. That only happens with the Mexican league and national team matches, which I personally do not watch.

A random person on the street could never take a ball away from a professional if the pro isn’t kidding around. They’d make the average person look so stupid and silly.

that because wrestling use different muscle group than soccer(futbol), i brought soccer player to wrestling practice and he throw up, and i went to their soccer practice and i couldn’t play a whole half 😂 but yeah soccer you need to have crazy endurance, wrestling endurance is different because you’re using your whole body unlike soccer where yes you’re running and need good stamina but is mostly the lung and leg that are needed to be train,

It's fucking wild that football not having breaks is a barrier in the US. I played a fairly average level, Sunday league til u16s, district schoolboys, bit of Saturday men's league etc. The last thing I wanted to do was stop for 5 minutes. My heel would be full of lactic acid My shins would be sore, cause I'm not a small bloke and I run flat footed The studs up two footer I took 10 minutes ago will be stinging. Thank fuck for the wrap around ankle bit on shinnies mate. Grealish has my eternal respect for what he bowls about with. 50 year old Irish man comes running on with a wet sponge. Don't worry Chopper, next chance I get he is having it. At no point do I want a break. And back to the point. It's incredible that Americans can't imagine a spot without ad breaks. Fucking WILD

He's an idiot, the barrier is the lack of excitement and action. Vast majority of us didn't play soccer so it just looks like a bunch of sissies kicking the ball to eachother and falling and crying like a toldler when they get touched. Yeah basketball players do the same sissy crap but the vast majority of Americans are at least somewhat educated on the sport of basketball and are able to understand the intricate strategy of he game. It is a break but it means like how in American football you have pauses between downs ect and switching possession over I think not sure if I'm accurate about that as I don't really watch your football but it also applies in basketball in ther forms of the constant subs and time outs out with the quarter breaks while football has rare subs that take up a very small ammont of the game and that time wasted for subs get added on at the end and there are no time outs or breaks for commercials so yes half time is a break but I think Joe is more refering to what I said above

@@4EverlastTrue. The grind nevers stops and the ability doesn't go away, it only changes as our bodies start to break and fall apart. We just have to be smarter and more efficient on how we play. I ran long distance in HS and still run 4 days a week 4-5 miles, sometimes bumping down or up, but I still do it. I play basketball at the park in town and I'll always see some 50+ dude with his grandkids shooting around and then they'll be the ones that want to play ME, the 25-year-old police in training.
@4Everlast
@4Everlast 8 ай бұрын
@@zaynes5094 Absolutely. Not to mention the many purposes playing sports has, but as with anything in live, it's never good to do too much of something, all within a good measure. And again as with all good things in life, healthy things, there are risks involved, of course. Once you start doing sports for 5-10 years, often, you can't stop, literally. Otherwise your risk of death by heart attack grows, as with years you change your body, your heart expands and you got it used to pumping a lot of blood, there for, you can't stop, as if you're driving a Ferrari to the max for years, then you don't go beyond 40 mph, the engine's gonna get cluttered. BUT the risk of cancer is getting lower the more oxygen you get into your system. You keep doing it, keep playing what ever, soccer especially, it's like fast chess, but many of you play at once. You can always evolve your game, you got to keep changing your strategy depending of whom you're playing with and the best people to play with are surprisingly those better then you and kids! Playing with folks better then your self will push you to be better, if you're not stronger in duels or faster, you can always out smart them, out play them, and playing with kids will teach you to have a softer touch. Also changing the size and weight of the balls, playing on different surfaces and especially trying out EVERY position will make you hungry for more. For me it's mostly a great mental training, as after 90 minutes of a fast tough game you want to quite, but you got to push your self to stay playing, and you don't have the time to thing about life's problems, you stay focused on one thing and for some of us, that's difficult.

@@TheComputec Okay you googled that, I legit have the source myself but ight. Outside of the midfield, but big bodied forwards and backs average 12-14 with full on contact from 360 degrees? If you have high half forwards and backs they are smaller bodied but still cover at lot of ground. Midfielders average 15-20 km while being a full 360 degrees contact sport with tackling, handballing, kicking, jumping, sprinting, marking? Add in the big bodied midfielders who are walking fridges 6’4 and above and how is this even an argument? Bahahahahah you can’t compare to footy, you just can’t. Don’t forget you have to bounce the ball when running, fatigued, have a bloke chasing you down ready to end your existence but oh shit I have to bounce it… Hahahah just stop with the google checks.
