Football is my whole childhood, I grew up in west Africa. We would wake up at 5:45AMAM (I still wake up today at 5:00AM automatically at 24 yo) go to school at 7 AM, come back at 3PM, play football till 6PM then we would shower and if it was our turn to get electricity we'd meet with all the friends (actually, our friends and their friends) to watch a Jakie Chan movie or some other chinese movie and if it wasn't our turn to get electricity (it was alternating days back then now we get it 24/7) we would play hide'n seek or our grandfathers or our parents or parent's friends would tell us stories, we would meet under a tree and make a circle to listen to them. Those were great times. Soccer is how we made friends and how we bonded everyday.

I’ve always said this and people called me crazy for thinking soccer is hard. Imagine having to play 45 min of soccer. Get a 10-15 min break. Then go again for another 45min + depending on the game. You cannot get any breaks and it’s straight running. Along w that your sprinting for 1/3 of the game and having to keep ur technic to kick a ball w it. It’s incredibly hard

I actually did this experiment when I left the Army. I had the G.I. Bill paying for my schooling so I asked the soccer coach if I could walk on because I didn’t need any scholarship money. He said absolutely young man. I was in the best shape of my life and so proud of my pink Nike soccer cleats as it was the year after they went viral in the World Cup . I only tried out as the goal keeper since the guys in my Army unit dared me to. The first 2 days of practice I couldn’t even finish the workouts in proper time, everyone was like who is this douche bag? The coach gave me every chance to stay on. Day 3 I gave up 5 goals in a single half against the Alumni team. I did block one shot and it felt like I got hit with a sledgehammer in my forearm. I will never talk bad about soccer players again. It was a very humbling experiment. I actually gave my cleats to another player who wasn’t as well off as me and thanked the coach for the opportunity after 3 days. Shout out to my boys in the 1st Battalion 3rd US Infantry Regiment and players of Northwood University. They actually won the NAIA National Championship the following year.

In Mexico, the tv stations don't give a f*ck about interrupting the game. They just make the screen for the game smaller and put a commercial right in the middle of the game. and they have the commentator read the ad, and they do it every 2-3 minutes or so. They do this because the two biggest broadcast companies own teams in the league, so it's all within the family. @@4EverlastTrue. The grind nevers stops and the ability doesn't go away, it only changes as our bodies start to break and fall apart. We just have to be smarter and more efficient on how we play. I ran long distance in HS and still run 4 days a week 4-5 miles, sometimes bumping down or up, but I still do it. I play basketball at the park in town and I'll always see some 50+ dude with his grandkids shooting around and then they'll be the ones that want to play ME, the 25-year-old police in training.
@4Everlast8 ай бұрын
@@zaynes5094 Absolutely. Not to mention the many purposes playing sports has, but as with anything in live, it's never good to do too much of something, all within a good measure. And again as with all good things in life, healthy things, there are risks involved, of course. Once you start doing sports for 5-10 years, often, you can't stop, literally. Otherwise your risk of death by heart attack grows, as with years you change your body, your heart expands and you got it used to pumping a lot of blood, there for, you can't stop, as if you're driving a Ferrari to the max for years, then you don't go beyond 40 mph, the engine's gonna get cluttered. BUT the risk of cancer is getting lower the more oxygen you get into your system. You keep doing it, keep playing what ever, soccer especially, it's like fast chess, but many of you play at once. You can always evolve your game, you got to keep changing your strategy depending of whom you're playing with and the best people to play with are surprisingly those better then you and kids! Playing with folks better then your self will push you to be better, if you're not stronger in duels or faster, you can always out smart them, out play them, and playing with kids will teach you to have a softer touch. Also changing the size and weight of the balls, playing on different surfaces and especially trying out EVERY position will make you hungry for more. For me it's mostly a great mental training, as after 90 minutes of a fast tough game you want to quite, but you got to push your self to stay playing, and you don't have the time to thing about life's problems, you stay focused on one thing and for some of us, that's difficult.

Played soccer in high school. We sent many a football player that thought they would just run over us, back to the gridiron. One even told me, “damn, at least we get some breaks. And get to wear pads too”.

Then try rugby 🏉 Completely different man’s sport, brutality of American football with the stamina of real football or soccer as you guys would call it

They have commercials during games but it’s handled by the commentators while the game is ongoing and they’ll have sponsors for free kicks, corner kicks, fouls and every other play in the game that lends itself to a pause. The soccer tournament in Colombia is like that

Bruh we played 3v3 with a group of friends for the first time using half the field. After about 5 mins of playing we all decided we need to get in shape. We were falling on the pitch and just lying there after a terrible sprint and failed shot. Professionals do those runs multiple times a game on a much bigger field. They are real athletes. Only thing to compare it to is wide receiver and even they get breaks between plays

I remember in high school, the football players thought of themselves as the toughest. So we put it to the test. The only ones able to out do the soccer team, was the wrestling team.
