While not on the same scale, I worked in London for many years as an instrument engineer and had access to some restricted areas. I had to service, maintain humidity and temperature equipment in this vault under an unassuming building in central London. Once passed many many security points, you finally end up in a several rooms of racks and shelves with paintings, books, sculpture etc. It was all bought by a company as investments for workers pension funds. It was mad, I had the chance to have a look around and picked up a book handwritten by Charles Darwin, and Picasso paintings and more.

Fun fact. Bahnhof's datacenter shown in the video (Pionen, located in "south" Stockholm) isn't the only datacenter to use an old bunker. Just a bit to the south, in a place called Tullinge, there is a second, much deeper and larger bunker, that a company called Tieto operates. (Then there is a few other bunkers used for datacenters in Sweden with a less "I am over here!" approach to marketing.)

To the people saying that "the most secure building is the one you've never heard about", please notice that _that_ would only make it the most _secret_ building, not necessarily the most _secure_ building. There's a difference.

I remember a picture in Time magazine from the mid 70's where Steve Ford (President Ford's youngest son) went out for a jog and climbed back over the fence to get back inside quicker. I guess that's not happening anymore...

Huge correction: The Vatican is *currently digitizing their archives,* that are not sensitive to their ideology. Which makes their archives more available to the public than is said in the video.

The video is still true though if they are currently doing that, which means that they aren't yet easily accessible. Plus it was a video about secure buildings, not the stuff inside of them.

It seems so odd that we still live in a world where we need to keep literal tons of shiny metal locked up in a building where nobody can ever see or use it "just in case". WTF is even the point when it has nothing to do with backing our money?!

7:12 its the round that delivers death not the weapon , you can have a anti tank launcher, but if you put a 9mm cartrage in it , it won't fire, but if you somehow modified it to shoot it, guess what? you get the same power as if it was coming from a Glock 17.

That's pretty standard for the fences around various places, some of which have public access to both sides of the fence.
