The World's Tallest Thermometer stands tall in stature and in history. We chat with Herron's daughter and current owner of the iconic monument LeRae Harguess about the beginnings of the World's Tallest Thermometer, its hardships and its rebirth.
Shortly after it was built it actually was blown down by the strong Mojave Desert winds. LeRae shares with us about how her dad almost gave up on his dream of building the World's Tallest Thermometer in Baker. But, like the motivated entrepreneur that he was, Willis Herron shook off the disappointment and got back to rebuilding!
We also take a look at the town of Baker - how it began as a railroad stop to a traveler's destination on their way from California to Las Vegas.
