Interesting fact : As of January 2023, at least 35 Airbus A318 are still in active service and this plane has zero accidents until now which is really amazing because this plane is still one of the safest Airbus aircraft in the sky.

Just because the A318 has zero crashes doesn’t necessarily mean it’s also the safest. Only 80 were ever made, which normally isn’t enough for a high-profile incident. The A318 shares a ton of commonality with the rest of the A320 family, so it’s probably about as safe as the 319, 320 and 321.

They actually did a stopover before entering into New York in Shannon because it couldn't take up enough fuel and stay below the maximum weight for the short takeoff in Londen City. Whilst refueling people could already pass customs which made up for the passenger's lost time. The other way around though was a direct.

Flew on an A318 on 2 separate occasions, both on easyJet. It was a pretty nice plane NGL, but on the return flight the engines had a malfunction so we had to wait for another plane. 9/10 would recommend

Hey swiss, I don't actually think that using flaps full for TO will improve performance. IIRC, lift doesn't actually increase that much from flaps 2 or so, just drag so you can have higher engine idle speeds for go-arounds ;)

They use full flaps for landing because the speed and altitude is low. It's for generating lift. It has indeed more drag but also has lift. Not much more compared to drag. But still a bit
