Last year I was looking around at waterfront houses on Long Island and I saw one on Zillow that had a peculiarly low price. It was a 2500 sf 1970s house with 1 bedroom and 3 bathrooms. Hmm... The first floor looked pretty normal, save for a carpeted conversation pit in the living area. Mmmkay... But the fun began on the second floor. There was a large landing with a huge hot tub on a pedestal. Across from it was a floor-to-ceiling clear glass wall/window. On the other side of the glass was a shower room with 3 shower heads side-by-side, which looks like it was intended to be a place to, uh, entertain. I'm not going to imagine what went on in this house... but I could only imagine that the 1970s was an amazing time to party.

The bathtub in the dining room: That's even worse than a house my husband and I visited, which had the bathtub in the middle of the bedroom. It left me confused.

In Asia or south America it is completly normal showering literaly with your toilet. That's why they have ruber slipers for bathroom.

I once lived a year in a tiny apartment that didn't originally have a shower, since it was from the time when people went to public bathhouses, instead. It had a toilet that was afterwards retrofitted to also function as the shower room. You basically had to put the toilet paper and the towels outside when you showered, since everything inside would get wet when you did. But it was the only way that place could have a shower in the first place and it wasn't that bad once you got used to it.

Mayo clinic has in patient bathrooms that have the shower toilet and sink. The bathroom has no threshold for some that are wheel chair bound. It's a good idea for hospital use but not for a home.

In Victoria, BC it's well-known that if you're downtown and desperate for a public loo, go into the Empress Hotel lobby and go downstairs. There are opulent, decadent public washrooms where the stalls have doors. Floor to ceiling doors. All the locals know this secret. 😊

When I lived in Korea, many apartments I saw had the toilet in the shower area. It's common there. It was very annoying to keep mold out because it just always kinda stayed wet due to high humidity.

Realtor here. I actually showed a tiny cabin that had an even tinier bathroom with a toilet and sink. It had a shower head in the ceiling. When you showered, the whole bathroom got cleaned.

It's a different pipe! That's the drain for the drinking fountain. The water supply line is in the wall behind the fixture. ...Though I really don't think that makes it any better at all... LOL That handycapped bathroom with the sports stickers... I mean, the alternative would be having stickers of paralympic sports, which...honestly might be worse? Honestly if I could build my own house, I would make a wet bathroom as they do in Asia. It just makes sense. I hate cleaning the sink and behind the toilet, so if I could just spray everything down I'd be ecstatic, as long as it had enough ventilation to keep mildew to a minimum.

To everyone who thinks these fake... The shower toilet combination is/was actually very common in old buildings in the Netherlands, like Amsterdam. I've seen and used various versions. I guess when inside plumbing and showers became a thing they didn't want to give up living space... So they just used one storage closet for both... Worse are the shower in the kitchen ones... You've missed out 😅. Thankfully many have been disappearing the last decades. But yes. In the 80's and 90's they were still all over old buildings. So when staying over at family or friends it always made me wonder how to keep your towel, clothes and or toilet dry. It was a puzzle. Most were like shower against the back wall, with a small sink. The shower curtain sticking against you, then tripping over the toilet against the door and out into the hall... Toilet paper holder against the door, so it was the greatest distance from the shower... Ps... If you gained to much weight you would get stuck between the walls... It was that narrow... Way less then a meter/3 feet...

There are some actually real ones. The toilet with a sink in the upper deck is real. Prisons have metal versions of them. They're used in my country as a space saver for small bathrooms.

I think I need to do some education on AI generated interiors. It’s clear there is a lack of understanding. AI images are meant to be polished and new. These images are 10-15 years old before AI was around.

@@mrphoenixgrey I would agree with the previous commenter, a lot of these images are AI generated OR very edited. Artificial intelligence is a lot older than many people would believe. AI is actually several decades old but like many tech technologies it can take a long time before it is incorporated in day-to-day life for most people. I agree with you that continuing your education on artificial intelligence and doctored images would benefit your page and the content that you’re able to review. At the minimum, you would have a better baseline for identifying doctored images to benefit you in your day-to-day life because even KZbin commercials utilize AI to match mouth movements to make it seem like the person physically speaking in the advertisement is the same person whose voice we hear - in many cases that’s not true.
