Although I dearly love both Lovely Runner and TW for different reasons...but I complete agree with you on the point that these two have completely different stories and characters, so I don't know why people were comparing these two shows while recommending 😅

I also enjoyed lovely runner a lot so I'm never comparing the two shows together but Twinkling watermelon is actually the one that made me emotionally attached to the story and characters (i cried lol) and I was also able to relate to the main character's situation (more specifically the parent's pressure on him) so it will always remain in my top comfort shows ever 😭

That's actually the charm of *lovely runner* it's the characters, the story and plot is simple but lr has chemistry and very likable characters. They're very easy to relate too. These people saying fl is annoying is just tryna be cool. Hye yoon is one of the most versatile actors in korea and she is very acknowledge. Her character is actually very easy to relate too, she's not annoying, her reasoning wasn't directly state by her but if you rewarch some scene and put ur selves into her shoes you'll understand her more than anyone there, why she always cried, why is she a bulldozer, why she's reckless..some of yall just want a cool female lead with nothing to do but to act cool and smart....wow

I completely agree people on your Patreon had me staying away from it as well because of the comparison. Until my sisters convinced me to watch it. I feel like people were generalizing it to much as just another time traveling high school setting K Drama when other factors matter as well. Great Video!

I have to recommend something for you to watch on your own after Lovely Runner. To really see the chemistry of the FL and ML, watch the Salon Drip interview with the 2 of them. See what those actors are like when they hang and you'll understand why this show gets you so invested in the main characters.

Twinkling watermelon has a multiple genre beside a fantasy timetraveller, it's like about dream, family, love, music, youth school, disability, and it's more like slice of life genre. so when i watch TW i can feel warm and many things related in my life. There's no thriller genre in there, so if you can't feel the tention, that's true. bcs TW make u feel warm, not make a feel the tention. and abt Lovely runner, it have more light story bcs only focus on Main couple, and its Romantic Comedy genre with a little thriller. Watch Lovely runner it more fun and not make me desprate, bcs not all the things in the story related in my life, so i can watch it multiple time bcs LR it's truly moodboster so the conclusion is i love both but for the story i more love twinkling watermelon

If you truly take the time to dissect each character you’ll understand the motive behind their actions, sympathize with their reasoning, and realize how blameless all of them are for acting the way they do because the bottom line is each MC is thinking of the other person. However, it’s inevitable for their choices to lead to a certain outcome which contradict the goal of the other during the earlier parts of the episodes.

I love Lovely Runner and have rewatched it quite a bit already, however I couldn’t get into Twinkling Watermelon despite trying for 6 episodes already.

In my POV, Twinkling watermelon is just an average drama for me. Lovely Runner was like not much have effect on me either, I dropped it on episode 3 but after all the episodes were done, and I’m on vacation I finally picked it up again. I still have my top 3 kdrama of all time…. Queen of Tears Itaewon Class Mr. Queen My top 3 thriller kdrama Taxi Driver Tunnel While You Were Sleeping Top kdrama action series Vagabond City Hunter K2

I'm in the minority when it comes to Lovely Runner being great. cuz I kinda thought it was overhyped. not that it wasn't (really good). but saying its better than Queen of Tears and that Netflix was shaking in their boots for passing on it is a little too much. I think most of the hype is cuz everyone is obsessed with the male lead. and I don't think it's better than Twinkling Watermelon either. everyone just be caught up in the right now.

@@YaboyrockleeAM wasn’t really towards the channel it was more towards the comment section lol. I just think I’m in the minority when it comes to Lovely Runner. I really think it’s a really good drama. I think how you said you feel towards Twinkling Watermelon is how i feel flipped with lovely runner. The characters didn’t excite me. Whereas in Twinking Watermelon I was on the edge of my seat every week with wanting to know if he’d fix everything with his parents.

I don't think so. Actually lots of people watching it because of the actress, Kim Hye Yoon, because she's known very good in acting specially in "Ice Castle" & "Extraordinary You". But once we watched it, the drama is a complete package. The main actor/actress, the supporting roles, the story, the plot twist, everything is so great in this drama. I've never push fast forward button. This channel reaction is representing most of who love lovely runner. Episode 1 is great to watch, but episode 2 got us hooked.

You can have a very famous actress or actor and the drama will still be a flop, so no it's not always about actors cause QOT had more popular actors and still lovely runner managed to be the 2nd most popular as of now.also I don't know if lovely runner was better than QOT but what I do know is that it was no less than queen of tears in any way.

lovely runner is okay but overrated imo. the time traveling rules are not clearly explained and depicted and the female lead is cringy. i didnt find myself simping for her. just my personal preference. everyone i know is simping for the male lead.

I dont simp for her in the manner i do Kim Ji won. Theres no “attraction” but shes very adorable. She is funny and she is pretty. She’s technically cringy but i find it cute. I dont have take it seriously. The male lead is indeed Handsome with charisma which is felt more as the series goes on. But no “simping” from me cuz…well hes a male. But i like him in this role

I mean i always thought the fued between kdrama fans between twinkling watermelon and lovely runner was pretty dumb because these are whole different stories. The only elements i can say that they both have is the back in time aspect and also the saving their loved ones. But in my opinion the character Eungyeol started off with a lot selfish intentions in the beginning compared to the Im sol in lovely runner. He definitely had an immature intention that reminds us that despite of him growing up faster than most he is still a child at heart. While for im sol is the complete opposite her character may come off childish cause of her love for eclipse but her intentions are clear from the beginning. Both character building of the leads in the drama is very transformative. For Eungyeol he developed a more leveled relationship with his parents out of understanding and respect with one another. While in lovely runner it was already established in the beginning im sols intention only intensified as the relationship with Sunjae developed on screen. Another factor is in lovely runner are definitely higher because death comes into play too much they are tension that stay throughout most of the eps in lovely runner. In twinkling watermelon death was already a lesson that was supposed to be accepted for growth but was just an obstacle they had get through it wasnt as much at stake as the accidents that changed his parents lives. Eungyeol is a character who appears tough in the outside but is softie in the inside and sol is the opposite she is ah softie but in the inside she is firm and never wavers in her stance. And alone the time travel rules in both dramas are very different they play very different roles in the narrative for each story. Storywise for a coming of age Twinkling watermelon is perfect but for a RomCom Genre Lovely runner is a bigger player. It all really depends on perspective of the viewer
