Not a Yankees fan, but I will weigh in and say that I don't think Boone is a particularly good manager. The Yanks had lots of firepower, which got them to the WS in a weak AL ... but he did nothing much to make a positive impression in the WS. Now, that said, it is difficult for me to blame Boone for the absurd errors the Yanks made in game 5. I think it is fair to say that playing well and playing basics is ultimately on the manager. I think it is also likely that even if the Yanks held on in game 5, they likely would have lost the series in Los Angeles. So ... mixed bag on Boone. If I was a Yankee fan, I'd probably want him gone. An ironic thing is that if I was a Yankee fan, I probably would want Mendoza as manager. Funny how things work out.

I agree! Plus the Yankees left at least 10 men on base during the game. You can’t leave that many base runners on base and win a World Series game. The Yankees played a horrible Series and they deserved to LOSE. Congratulations to the Dodgers! They played awesome!

The phrase, "It's not how you start it's how you finish," was absolutely apropos tonight. On the eve of Halloween, Freddie was the Yankees Nightmare the ENTIRE SERIES! But EFFORT & ERRORS was the reason for losing this game and ultimately the WS! A no hitter, and a shutout through five... But the pitcher not running to first base with two outs was lazy! After almost 70 pitches Aaron Boone should have called in a reliever.. Aaron Judge being nonchalant on a simple out! Simply put L.A. outplayed them and out hustled them..

The Yankees (arguably) had better starting pitching, the better bullpen, and - after Shohei's injury - the better offense. But, once again, Aaron Boone got out-managed, and Brian Cashman has nothing to show for all of his money spent and his front office "genius." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yankees fan here, and congrats to the Dodgers on the win. If the Yankees are just going to hand it to them, then they deserve it. The Yankees had that game with likelihood at its best to win and make it a 3-2 series, but they decided to just hand it over.

If you have watched baseball your entire life then you may be suffering from memory loss not to remember "The Jose Bautista Bat Flip Inning," Easily worse than the Yankees' choke 5th inning. But everyone will say, "Gasp, The Yankees?"

I think that was the only time in the series that the pitcher didn't cover 1st base on a ground ball to the right side. Judge took his eye off the ball for some reason maybe to check the runner to see if he could double him off. Volpe had a tough throw to 3rd base and the 3rd baseman didn't position himself to give Volpe a good throwing lane either. They probably could have survive 1 or 2 errors but 3 errors was simply too much. I was pulling for LA but not a NYY hater either. But, that was simply bad baseball. LA deserved it and as a Braves fan, I loved seeing Freddie Freeman have a great series.

I give Cole a pass on not making it to first base. He was too busy making up for all the blunders by the defense by dealing with max pressure and still striking out two hitters with the bases loaded. Rizzo could have helped relieve some of the pressure Cole was going through. He didn't even make an attempt to run to first base.

Yanks snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Horrendous baseball. Fielding errors happen, and while bad neither of those swept away the lead. The biggest error was emblematic of their biggest issue all season: lack of hustle. Grounder to first. Pitcher should be covering. He does not. First baseman is half the distance from the bag as the runner when he fields the ball. He does not run the ball to the bag; he just sorta jogs. If pitcher hustles and covers, inning over at 5-1. If first baseman hustles to the bag instead of jogging, inning over at 5-1. Worst defensive inning I’ve ever seen.

The Dodgers are clearly the superior team. Yankees didn't even deserve to be on the same field as the mighty Dodgers. What kind of a pathetically weak league allows these yankees chumps to be champions. The Padres and Mets would have kicked these jokers ass.
@tc.hydockАй бұрын
The Mookie Betts play was ruled as a hit. It's certainly a mental error and terrible misjudgment by Cole, but it's not a scorebook error. Ironically, in some ways, the Cole play was actually the worst of the 3.

I sure thought being 5 runs ahead on the 5th inning was a safe lead, but I guess 🤬king not! It's just lots of bad luck for a team during any game, when the opposing team can last 20 minutes playing with 2 outs and sometimes score 7 runs, mean come on, how 🤬king hard is it to get that last out?

The most egregious play was Cole not covering first. This is a routine play at any level. How does that happen! Regardless, neither of the three miscues would've happened if Karma wasn't cocked and ready due to the stupid fan interference in Game 4. So really, it was those guys fault.🤣
