I was like 13 when I finally got around to playing it, and being a survivor of a trauma, it hit me hard. But I was a kid lol. TL;DR : Kinda worth it if you like games that are just movies and it's on sale. Didn't age well.

It's just a shame that the game is _really_ janky and the story isn't all that well-written, but there's a good experience to be had and with better execution, it could've been a classic. For those curious about how the car crash killed Jason despite Ethan clearly taking the brunt of the impact-it was originally written that, when Ethan knocked Jason down to try and save him, he actually crushed and killed him. Ethan wasn’t indirectly responsible due to being in charge of the kid at the time, he was _literally_ the one to kill the boy (accidentally, but still). This plot point was ultimately scrapped, but the cinematography of the scene remained.

When Dunkey made the joke about how the detective _couldn't_ be the killer, he should have shown all the scenes where you can hear his internal thoughts where he actively doesn't know who the killer is or how to stop him but is trying his hardest to find out. Like its incredible that 2 of the playable characters whose internal thoughts you can hear at any point with the press of the button, 1 thinks he might be the killer and the other never thinks he is, and they are BOTH wrong. And its not a situation where the killer is some dissociative identity, they are fully aware of what they are doing, the game just actively lies to the player to make them think he isn't the killer when he knew the entire time.
@AnkhAnanku2 жыл бұрын

@jp38132 жыл бұрын
@@AnkhAnanku Still would've been a design flaw.
@GBDupree2 жыл бұрын
@@AnkhAnanku There is a different way the ending plays out depending on your choices. When Main Character Man (I forget his name) is trying to rescue his son at the end and the Origami killer appears behind him with a gun, depending on your choices either the lady or the cop will come to your rescue and the Origami killer will fail to kill you. BUT if you fail the choices to make either character appear there to help, the Origami killer just won't even try to attempt to kill you because he never wanted to, he just tells you that he wanted to see if someone could save their son from his trap. So not only is him pulling a gun on you in the other endings a fake cop out for "drama", but that it directly contradicts his motivation in the first place. There is basically no version of your choices that make logical sense in this game.
@HenryWayat2 жыл бұрын
That's what everyone assumes that the game lies to you but it doesn't. You see, Shelby being the actual Origami Killer knows he didn't killed Laura's son and he investigates who copycats him. And it was Gordi Kramer. So he DOES look for a killer and ironically it even leads to him since Kramer owns a construction site where Scott's brother died. In my opinion the game tries to replicate one of Agatha Christie's most infamous novel where the killer is actually the storyteller, it even has some lines that indicate him but you brush it off as it seems not suspicious in the context. So in this game there are a couple of lines that if you know Shelby's true intent they become more clear to you like when Laura messes with his actions he think that he shouldn't have brought her with him, or when he tries to mislead her and fails then he think that she is tough and won't drop the case no matter what. And I can appreciate the game for it but sometimes it just too dumb. Like when Shelby kills Manfred in the room that has no other exit but the shop and the game (or Shelby) tries to implicate that it was an unknown man who somehow sneaked behind them killed Manfred and left, this was sooo dumb.
@jp38132 жыл бұрын
