So I did a test playthrough and if you go Trade Unions and do almost 80% of the Decolonization path you'll get even more PP in comparison of not doing any focus for that time. If you time it right, you can actually retain all dominions (even India) after turning communist. Then it's just a matter of building up towards war with the Axis and the US

You can actually form the Imperial Federation. You go down only first two focuses in Communist tree, not anymore, then you rush down the Imperial Federation, after that you do rest of your Communist focuses and a civil war kicks off, for me its always in Canada so its hilariously easy to deal with. Verenigd is obvious as it's basically Verenigte but simplified but Koninkrijk is just strange. The first half is obviously derivative from König but the last half, which would be Reich in German got lost through the ages to the point where it does look legitimately like a goblin word.

@@rebelgaming1.5.14 middle dutch and middle german are actually not to far apart. the ancient german languages only started drifting much more heavily since the 1500ish. up untill like 1200/1300 most people from parts of germany and the netherlands would have most likely been able to understand what people were saying to each other. if not get most of the words. A little bit how a lot of romance languages share ALOT of words.

The story of HMS Glowworm is actually pretty badass. In short she engaged the German heavy cruiser Admiral Hipper alone during the invasion of Norway. Ultimately she was sunk after ramming the Hipper and shearing off a large portion of her belt armour, leaving her out of action for a fair while. Glowworm's captain was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross after the Hipper's Captain wrote to the British Admiralty, recommending the award for the gallantry he displayed.

When MtG first came out, I went down the communist path, but I left Edward VIII in charge. So, I had a fallen government, which gave -50% daily political power, while needing political power to do the decisions to go communist. I then went communist, which got rid of the fallen government, and ousted the royal family, but I still had the Edward VIII national spirit. I then quit that game.

Honestly, I kind of like the idea behind the UK communist path but it just feels... weird. Like, why is the option to attack the USSR placed before the option to attack Germany? Why can you only get the focus to invade America if you team up with Stalin when it's easier to do when you don't ally? It just seems needlessly complicated.

to be fair, communists love to fight over each over, more than fighting other ideologies even. So in that way it makes sense. The bigger issue is the fact that decolonization is just a complete waste as a tree due to the lag it causes. And the fact that rather than independent states, it would had led UK communists taking a "Stalin and the Soviet states" route where they are independent only in name much like Ukraine was an "independent soviet republic" in USSR.

@@melfice999 I might make sense if you actually had some practical way to invade the USSR after decolonizing. As is, you basically have to go through Germany before you can properly invade the USSR. I honestly don't have too much of a issue with decolonization besides the lag since most of the Empire is a giant hassle and if I go communist I prefer to focus on Europe anyway. The lag is still very annoying though.

You can capture the dominions using a focus if you have enough troops stationed in the right areas. It's a bit of a pain and you need to look up all the places you need to have troops prior to firing the focus otherwise they will break free before you can impose martial law and turn them
