Whilst not in the final film an early script has it being mentioned that the winners of the previous two hunger games (72 and 73) were from district 2. In the final film we actually see footage of what seems to be the winner of the 73rd game as the environment matches an early script that showed the previous game in more depth. Likewise the winner is indeed wearing the red oxide jacket the district 2 tributes wear in Katnis' hunger games. We know Johanna from district 7 won the 71st Hunger Games from promo material and we know from the books Annie from district 4 won the 70th. The winners of 68th and 69th games are unknown but one of them was a male as Katnis recalls a male with a score of 3 won "a few years ago" who is speculated to be the male Morphling victor from district 6 that gets redrafted into the 75th. finally we have the latest confirmed district 1 victor as promo material have a guy called Augustus Braun be the victor of the 67th game. We also know district 1 won the 63rd and 64th games, as the siblings Gloss and Cashmere won those games back to back. Its also said that the majority of the first 9 games were won by tributes from 1 and 2.

So I read this book that came out a short time after the hunger games which had the same battle royale premise: a group of youths enter a tournament to the death, with the winner winning the hand of the princess. The main character volunteered together with his best friend. Neither of them had life or death pressure to do so and neither even liked said princess. Of course the best friend died immediately and it was made out to be some traumatic event, which the MC promptly forgot about after 8 hours and never thought of again. That's when I knew the book was going to be bad. But it was written by a youtuber so idk what I expected 😂
