This was an great video and please do more like this. Bottom line, we come to you because we need your help doing the right thing with our NestEggs and we should be humble enough to know you have our best interest in your advice. You have all the experience in this and we need to listen and trust that during these times in the market. Love the passion bubbling out of you two.

If the value of your house falls, would you panic and sell so you stop losing money? No you don't need the money. You need the house. When the market is down it's not a loss, unless you sell. It's just a temporary devaluation of your shares. And shares are a multiplier and when the prices are down you can multiply your multipliers.

My 401K is down although I think staying put is my best option for right now. I'm holding out to the end of the year. Hopefully the portfolio managers can bring some of it back. I still might stay there just haven't decided yet. I remember in December 2021 that I wondered how rising interest rates would effect my 401K. I didn't think it was going to be this bad.

I did exactly what they talked about in #1 two years ago and then watched the market go up and up. Finally bought back in two months ago. Lost almost $200,000 that took me years to save and I’ll never get that money back. This was the first time in my life I ever pulled money out and put in conservative funds because I thought with Covid the market was sure to fall.

Hmmm.. been there! Had $50k or so in an old 401k, in a growing target plan. This was back in 2008/2009, I moved it all into bonds to stop the loss. I didn't move that money at all, until last year (yes 2021), combining it with another 401k into an IRA with Dustin's advisement.... Oh, the money I left behind..!!!!!

Thoughts on dividend etf income investing vs total return as you get closer to or in retirement? I love jepi' high yield & some capital appreciation. Same with SCHD. I can take the monthly dividend & not have to sell shares when market is down.

Question, anyone. Small potatoes for most I guess but my 401k company matches 100% I put 3 % ,past 3 months I contributed 450$, company 450$, had loss of 750$ so I actually lost 300$ of my money. I believe stocks will continue to go down. I only have 6000$ total in. I'm dropping my 401k ,,,I don't think I can get $ out ,but will or could the 6000 disappear if Markit continues to fall?
