About 37 years ago my dad stepped into the bathroom to check om my little sister. She was still little. He found her face down in the water. He yelled so loud that it took a long time to calm my sister down. She had been practicing holding her breath in the water. That is how a normal father reacts when he thinks his child is dead. When I told my finances dad that he died. He kept saying "NO NO NO! With tears in his voice. That's how a normal loving father reacts when he hears his child died.

Yes exactly! My dad and I were weeding the garden, no more than half a metre away from his pool and my 2 year old daughter, was helping us. Drowning can be such a quiet process and all I heard was one little "plop" behind us. She had fallen in and was floating beneath the water looking up at me. It was surreal. Dad and I both yelled and both jumped in fully dressed of course. That's terror! And that's normal! Most Australians grow up in pools and at the beach, at the age of 66 I still do 50 laps most days at the local pool but we still have so many drownings...sorry I digress, I was reliving a potentially horrible experience. Excuse me.

My infant son passed away January 2022. He was disabled & was on hospice for 10 months. Regardless of the fact that my husband & I had both agreed that based on his quality of life we didn’t want medical intervention if he stopped breathing, I still did CPR, called 911 & called our hospice nurse. It is a natural instinct to try to save your child in that moment no matter what you have planned for prior to that point, I don’t care what anyone says. 2 thoughts, based on nothing. 1) The way his wife was sick, makes me think he was making or keeping her sick. He loved being able to lord over his healing skills over her. 2) the way he's talking about her being there while finding the children dead, is like he's talking about a ghost. She appears, she talks after his questions and she never acts / touches him or them, beyond stabbing herself (and keeping talking).

I have previously mentioned how helpful I find the new format. Today let me tell you all how much I appreciate the unique outlooks each of you bring to the table. I totally enjoyed learning about water, music terms as they relate to how one says/presents something, after death beliefs, etc. from Mark. I very much liked hearing about Chase's learning about the human brain and his realization that it represented a person. I loved Greg's "amber" verb forms. And Scott's explanation of how a man should act regarding the death of his family was encouraging in how straightforward it was. I think the blend of perspectives and personalities makes your channel particularly unique, yet very educational.

@joralemonvirgincreche I need to back up and attempt to make myself a little clearer. I totally agree with you about names. A close friend of mine has an extremely talented stepdaughter named Amber. I very much like the name. A woman I worked with for years just died. Her name was Karen. She was not a "Karen". What I do like to learn about is how language evolves based on what might be going on in society or how something is perceived by the majority. We now have the verb "google". We have all kinds of online "language" as a result of texting. I particularly like to learn how others see things in ways I would never think of. Political cartoons provide the best example I can think of; I can strongly disagree with the opinion illustrated by the cartoon itself, but be somewhat in awe of the creative mind that gives a clear and strong message, most often without words. Unfortunately, you are correct that our negative reactions towards a particular individual do sully a name. That part I don't like because, as you said, it is unfair to so many very nice people with the name that is now viewed so negatively. I am a 75-year-old woman. I wish I could say that negative connotations eventually disappear. However, based on what I have seen over the years, I don't know if they always do. You must be a kind, empathetic person to feel badly for all the other Ambers.
@regenia87384 ай бұрын
@joralemonvirgincreche I came back to share one other observation. I don't know if I am right, but I think at least a lot of the negative language we use is related to women. For a while, after "Karen" became part of our vocabulary, a "Ken" appeared on a video. For a brief period, both "Karen" and "Ken" were in use. Soon, male or female, the only name used was "Karen". It might well be that is the case because she was the first, her case involved two races and two sexes, AND a poor dog. That means a lot of people were repulsed for different reasons or for all of those reasons. I don't know. However, I know the term "bitch" is now used to refer to men. "Douchebag" is a frequently used insult. Again, it seems over the years that terms used to indicate a disliked person too often have to do with us women and / or our bodies.

One thing I felt you guys overlooked because your analysis is so granular. Yes, the DA missed some opportunities to zero in on minor details, but by letting Todt rant at her made an impression on the jury. What's going to make me think he killed his wife and kids? That one time he said the library door was open and another time it was closed? Or that he looks like a Kevin ranting and raving and rolling his eyes when he's asked a simple question?

“My wife DIED in FRONT OF ME, A L S O.”??, and I would bet HE was shocked to see HER alive, and HE asked HER that. I would also wager HE baked them a pie. He was distancing himself from AlLL knowledge of that pie; he didn’t even want to own up to knowing the KIND of pie. They should keep him out of the prison kitchen.

Chase Hughes your turn to blow my mind! WOW! So grateful for the explanation about life lessons! “We are watching a person who is uncomfortable getting angry, and when you see this, if the person is actually angry and you don’t see their actual response to anger but you see self-restraint and you see other little behaviours that are child-like which is exactly what you are seeing here. If you ever meet somebody like this, you are either facing somebody with low self-control or somebody who is going to push you in front of a bus to save themself because they doubt themselves that much. People with a high self-worth and high self-control are able to exhibit being angry without risk of violence. That’s the difference there.” (30min 35 secs)

I am not an expert on ANYTHING, but his discussion of the pie was so odd, I listened twice. What I heard: ‘I declined the pie…for my health’; as the drugged pie was the initiation to the death of his family, that WAS a wise health move. The description of the pie - given twice - sounds like a description of the family’s decaying bodies. ‘It was my responsibility to clean the kitchen’ - an odd thing to say, but he failed to clean up the ultimate aftermath from eating the pie. ‘Residue of the pie was on everyone’s plate’; everyone who ate the pie bore the consequences. Probably reading too much into it, but the details given and time discussing PIE - beyond strange. Love the channel and all you observe.

@@trawlins396 I'm ex-catholic. Purgatory is kind of like jail. You're not quite good enough to get directly into heaven so you have to sit there for some indeterminate period of time "paying off" your venial (non-mortal) sins. If you die with a mortal sin (serious sin) then you don't go to purgatory, you go straight to hell.

These guys know how to manipulate, treat you like a queen and make you the center of their world to win you over at all cost, even when you don't want to be won. Narcissistic abuse in relationship has it's very special dynamics. Only survivors of it can fully understand why they fell for it and why they stayed. I've been there and I can reassure you that this is smth completely different than just falling in love with an asshole. It took me 2 years of psychotherapy, reading all books on the subject I could find and watching dedicated channels on yt to understand what the hell was that.

Did anyone else pick up on the part where the attorney was asking him if his phone was charged and he was about to say that unbeknownst to him, he had the phone that had no service and that they only use it for EMERGENCIES. He stopped himself right before he said it and instead said "things" and got super flustered and sped up his response to reiterate that he didn't have a working phone. I guess because he's trying to say that it wasn't even charged the attorney didn't impress that all phones have the capability of dialing 911.
