@@JamJestKesh nah, old pop was fair and actually took a lot of time to activate and had a huge counter to it (Repressed Alliance) you also need to take into account the time it takes to travel from the hook and looking for the generator with the most progress and kicking it, unlike Eruption which activates as soon as you down someone and it can affect multiple survivors from doing generators for 25 seconds which is very versatile and buys you a lot of time Eruption is much better and grants you so much value unlike old pop

Survivor second chance meta has always stayed because they just hit all the right areas survivors need. Even with the nerfs to DS, survivors still end up going back to it. The only perk that really changed got changed out was BT to Off The Record because BT is now basekit. Meanwhile the killer meta changed from Ruin/Undying to the gen kick perks because Ruin was utterly gutted and the new gen kick perks work wonderfully together.

A problem I’ve ran into as a new player is this build is so easy to just accidentally create. 2 of the perks are attached to really cool characters, and the other two just sound busted when reading. There are not too many perks that are obvious in just how fun or good they are, so you focus on what’s in your face.

The reason the survivors were standing still is because they were incapacitated. Incapacitated makes it to were survivors can't do gens,cleanse totems,open chests ,etc. How they got this effect is from eruption. In the description of the eruption perk it states that if survivors are working on a generator that is effected by eruption they will become incapacitated.

I try and use variety builds still. A favourite of mine as Bubba is Lethal Pursuer, Pain Res, Deadlock and Floods of Rage. One relies on a gen getting done to lock others, two rely on me getting hooks on particular hooks and two are aura reading. I don't often feel a need to protect the gens hard...but when I get a gen rushing survivor or two. Oh man do I feel it. With bhvr adding new survivors with potential gen rush perks too, I kinda understand killers wanting to prepare for it just in case. It's a vicious circle. I just wanna practice my chainsaw and bring people the joy that is a cute little bean named Bubba.

Let's be real, it's the game in general. Meta can be changed, but core gameplay loop is the same. Everything revolves around generators and time, so slowdown perks will always be top tier for killers. Some can be more boring, but it's the same thing. BHVR gladly use balance changes to sell you DLCs with recent meta slowdown perks when something like Ruin is now in the trash.

I do kick gens most of the time, but I don’t run perks that sabotage gens, though most of the time, you end up encountering survivors that gesture you to do things, chase them, hit them, often times hooking them, but would also work on a gen for a second just to give you something to kick several times, and once the last gen pops, I rush to the nearest gate to open it

But when I’m not kicking gens, I’m breaking pallets and breakable walls (Dead Dawg is perfect for this), but yes, I usually do it to farm brutal points, but I would also chase people when wanting to do something different, hook people, hit people if they don’t get that I’m running Lightborn and they’re just standing there, and would down them if they do it again, but I’ll do that anyway if you t-bag me, and will also target you until third hook

There are several ways where I could see the devs going about this as a very lenient way to rectify the meta without destroying Eruption, Brine and Overcharge's effects. Simply only allow 1 regression effect to take place at any given time. So it has to either be Brine or Overcharge, or flat out disable versions of regression perks to be stacked together. It would flat out take any god tier trio regression set up down a peg. Secondly, add in a "prevention" mechanic for killers who damage the same generator too often within a 120sec(time is always adjustable) time frame. Much like how survivors get locked out of vaulting windows, killers need to be "prohibited" from kicking generators more than twice. They get 3 free kicks, the 4th locks it like how the windows get locked. Lock it for 45sec/half the total gen repair timer(can be adjusted) Third, working off my second point - once a Killer is locked out of a gen on that way, maybe give survivors a 4% repair boost to help progression from being a stalemate. Fourth, and probably the most controversial - Blast Mine is already a pretty fun and strong perk on the survivors arsnel. It activates faster, doesn't last as long but just has a longer cooldown if a killer kicks a gen with BM installed, but it provides counter play to gen focused Killers using these perks? Make it to where its the Survivors version of Erruption/Incapacitating the Killer. They can't kick that generator for 45 seconds after a Blast Mine stun or potentially any generator for 30 seconds after a BM stun. However, in order to balance this - only ONE Blast Mine can be active on any generator at any given time from any survivor. Kind of like Open Handed or Prove Thyself, how it's only allowed to have once instance of the perk - allow all 4 players to run it, but only allow one gen to have BM installed on it. So if they really wanna kick that gen; they can just stand there and wait while other gens get repaired or they can move on from that gen to patrol others while the survivor(s) work on that one. I don't know how these would truly affect the meta. I already see Blast Mine quite often, especially paired with Risidual Manifest so why not adjust it to be an counter to anti-gen killer builds. The blind/stun is mildly aggravating, being able to immediately kick said gen after being BM stunned sort of negates the value but I recgonize that it is to give them a chance to escape. So to summarize my last point in a TLDR; reduce the stun/blind duration of Blast Mine, make it activate quicker while having a longer cooldown while also preventing a killer from interacting with that generator for X ammount of time after being Stunned by Blast Mine. As a trade off for this new found power, give it the Prove Thyself/Open Handed downside of only allowing once instance of the perk being active at any time. If a generator has BM installed, there should be a blue icon at the bottom, in the same fashion for other perks of that nature. Like how Prove Thyself, Boons, Open Handed, etc show when they are active and affecting you - everyone should know when Blast Mine is active signaling no one else can activate it.

ok , I never used this build but I discovered a very interesting build for demogorgon: Hex the third Seal ( so they don't see the auras of active portals) Save the best for last (duh) Endurance (To be able to break pallets quickly even when you are estimated) Discordance or tinkerer (to jumpscare survivors, put a portal next to a gen but not in a visible way and when the perk activiates you scare then, is pretty Fun) then i use irdiscent addons to buff the portas and to be stealthy.

I've been running an Aura heavy build on Huntress and the stealth-based killers with great success. Put pressure on gens by putting survivors on hooks. Way more fun to play.

@@Oxygen1004 I haven't had enough practice with Oni. I mostly play Huntress, Ghostface, and Onryu atm. I usually rotate through the rest of the killers at least once every 2 or 3 sessions though.

I'm conflicted I don't want to run CoB + Eruption, I want to have fun chases and learn how survivors play around certain loops for when I play Survivor; But if I don't run them, I get 2 chases and then all the gens get done in 2 mins. At least Eruption forces Survivors off gens so I can get more chases

Fun Fact: In Asia Server. This Build isn't that meta at all... Because most of the Asian Survivor are really good at Skill Checks. For Example: I played as Onryo on Rotten fields with OP Addon (Ring Drawing + Iri Tape). With the EXACT 3 Perks and the last perk is Scourage Hook. The game went for almost 30 minutes and they managed to fix 4 Gen. I won that game because I have to tunnel 1 survivor. The counter to this build for survivor is simple perk.... BOON HEALING ..... Not even joking. The people I went againts has 2 Boon Healing. They already knew what build I'm currently using the second I ignore 1 guy who run away after I come to his gen and kicked it. Both of them setup the Boon far away from the gen as possible and if I kick one of the Boon, they will set it up again to waste my time kicking the gen. If i commit to 1 person. 3 or 2 of them will commit to 1 gen. If I only hit the person I currently chasing .... Guess what? He can just heal inside the Boon that they already set up and fix 1 gen that currently far away from my position. Ohhh and they are not SWF btw. So yeah. I realized it's a good strategy for the Survivor (from Killer POV). Set up a Boon Healing or Bring OP Medkit with Build to Last. When the killer come to your gen and just kick it and not chase you away from the gen. Immediately touch it and land on the skill check. After that just commit to it until he come again to kick it. if the Killer decide to start chase? Just Commit to it. If you worry about Eruption, The survivor that I went againts just straight up not touch the gen every 3 seconds. To be fair, It's annoying as survivor because the killer will not chase you and if the killer decide to hit you just to make you run on another side of map, You can just heal and come back. It's annoying and Wasting time Build (?)

They need to give eruption and CoB a larger cooldown. Like CoB needs at least a 30 second cool down and eruption like 60 seconds.

this is why i prefer playing killers with some sort of gimmick or the ability to end chases quickly. one of my favorites is nemmy with discordance, CoB, NWO, corrupt(forces discordance+gives time for zombies to spawn in) cause noise notifications

Think about the meta 8 months ago: Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance + Dead Man's Switch. You have to down a person, where is close enough to white hook, then bring them there, and the combo booms a gen and blocks it. But its only 1 gen, and when a gen being blocked its cannot be regressed. And experienced player can give the hand up to prevent themself from ruining everything, a way to counter it. Now with kick gen meta, killer erupts 3 gens, handlock 3 people at same time. And survivors cannot counter it since there is noway to know exactly when your teamate going to be down so they cannot give the hand away and let Eruption fuk them up.

@@Justmonika6969 yea. Like I only started running the Meta because when I got to the later tiers gens where poping off so fucking fast I couldn't do shit. I started a game chased a survivor for like 25 secs and saw 2 gens pop and one was almost done. Like I hate eruption it's basic and unfun but if I can't control all the gen tapping that smart teams do I'm just fucked. I get that it's annoying to solo players but like people swear up and down it dosent work on SWF teams and the whole it won't stop them are missing the point of gen tapping and how popular it has become to just start gens and get a bit done to keep it going. Sorry for the long rant lol

Unless your playing the best killers with their good add ons, you have to play this meta build at high mmr or all the gens will get done in no time at all and you will lose because your having fun with a chase. And even with this build some killers still struggle because survivors don’t even need tool boxes or gen rushing perks, gens get done so fast and chases last so long because of exhaustion perks, off the record, basekit borrowed time, etc. If survivors can finish a gen in a minute or less and they get a decent map and they’re running the current meta perks they won’t go down before a gen pops. It’s like either the killer camps/tunnels or runs this build. Sometimes both.

I have two playstyles: Camp and tunnel, or 4 gen regression perks (same as above but Pain Res instead of Jolt). I was bored of it so I decided to do something "fun," play a hex build. The first chase should have been over in 30 seconds but they dragged it out with Dead Hard, and in the process 3 gens popped by the time it was done. First 2 mins and the game was already a pointless loss. I tabbed out, watched YT, and swore that from now on, it would only be camping and tunneling or 4 gen regression perks.

Literally every match killers at least have each of Overcharge, Call of Brine, and Eruption. It's the smallest pp meta that's ever been. It's just hilarious to me that the massive summer update was supposed to shake up everything and all it did was bring one of the worst eras of DbD ever. Ironically it's thanks to the gen kick meta and eruptions current state that I got the Nemesis adept first try lol
