The Worst Mining Disaster In History | The Frank Slide

The Frank Slide was a catastrophic rockslide that occurred on April 29, 1903, in the town of Frank, Alberta, Canada. Triggered by the collapse of Turtle Mountain's limestone face, over 82 million tonnes of rock tumbled down, engulfing part of the town and forming massive debris fields. The slide resulted in the deaths of approximately 90 people and remains one of Canada's deadliest natural disasters.

The mountain is actually still moving! They believe another part of the mountain will fall eventually. I’m not sure what the Estimate is but they are keeping an eye on this mountain

Might it be appropriate to do a documentary on the Mount Saint Helens disaster although not a coal mine but a disaster all the same seems to mirror this rather excellent program
