The diamonds were for enchanting or crafting certain weapons i believe. But you needed to find or buy the recipe with diamonds in like /teleport8 or something like that. Edit: You can find teleports going up the different castle ramps (some take like 2 minutes to climb, but the way most people travel around is just to use the /teleport function where you have to type a number from 1-15. But this was ages ago so idk if it would still work. Dueling was the main thing in this game, some attacks take longer to use so you had to use animation cancels and time your abilities right since people all had diff pings. Also why are you never blocking? Its like the most essential part of this game xD

instead of climbing up all those levels in the dungeon, you could have used the chatcommands. Even back then when Sherwood wasn'T ported over to windows and android yet, you had tons of "hidden" commands you could enter into the chat to teleport out of dungeons, into specific areas etc. - if i remember you were able to enter "/level 1" to get to the first level of the dungeon, and there were also commands to get to the start area.. i think it was "/main" or something along this line. This didn't allowed you to just go to level 9999 in a dungeon since you had to be at a specific dungeon level before to be able to teleport into it, but it was a easy way out of dungeons.

Dude, Sherwood Dungeon was a game that I played quite a bit as a kid as I obviously had no money to buy games, so a free game that ran in the browser was perfect for me. I remember playing like 10+ years ago and there was a decently large and active playerbase. There were many active clans and people would regularly have clan wars. My favorite thing to do was trying to find spaces and corners in the world geometry that would allow you to get on top of objects normally inaccessible to you. One of my core memories of playing this game was glitching all the way up on top of the castle in the courtyard area. I remember having 1v1 duels to the death in that courtyard. I remember having Mindfire weapons that had a color shifting rainbow texture and thinking I was the coolest player in the game. Yeah, it was a pretty objectively shitty game, but I still have many fond memories of being a clueless kid just having fun goofing around and playing that stupid little browser flash game named Sherwood Dungeon.

This game had brought so many memories. I'm still friends with some of the people I used to actively play on the daily with. As of today, I decided to download the game and try it out. Unfortunately barely anyone was on, no one to communicate to if there was anyone, and the game just felt different than what I remembered it. Gene Enrody needs to come back and do something with it.

How is it that it seems a ton of people played this game and yet no one knows it as the same time

I remember this game having no, like, security system so literally anyone could access your character if they remembered the name. I made a character called Wanderlust (yes, stolen straight from Nightwish), and last I logged in I was nowhere I remember logging out. Regardless, I enjoyed it for the week I spent on it.

Free to play browser games have been around for almost 25 years. Disney even had them in the late 90s. Now the internet archive has plenty. Even dead mmos
