This was incredibly accurate for me. Mine reached out after following up. Took about a month. Since then I’ve a few dozen tracks accepted. I’m able to directly ask my A&R guy at my library any questions I have and he’s provided INCREDIBLE feedback to help me improve. Building that relationship is SO important. This works!!

I was on the warpath to mass submissions - Im glad I caught this video, I reached out to roughly 20 places with various tunes, but, luckily, I have others of the same genres they could select from. Im going to chill on reaching out and heed this advice. Great video.

I hear this advice a lot and idk if I agree. The idea that taking 10 minutes to craft beautiful personalized emails is a bit too optimistic when it comes to cold emailing especially in the music industry. The proof is in the unread receipts. If most of them don’t care to read your emails in the first place, I don’t think you’ll really be burning bridges with any of them just because another one bit first. What I’m suggesting isn’t bulk emailing with as many bcc’s as possible but instead, using something like mail merge that inputs peoples names and company names for faux personalization and reaching tons of companies that way

Thanks for this, Jesse! It was this advice that allowed me to get into my library. And I’ve been working with them for almost a year now! The relationship seems to be going strong and I’ve been seeing great communication throughout. I appreciate all you do for our community!

If it's not too much trouble, which library do you work with?
@migueljclemente Жыл бұрын
@@asiadae hi Asia, i have worked with Get It Done Records and Methodic Doubt Music. Really amazing people there that know their stuff. It’s been awhile since I’ve submitted anything as I’ve started a job as a full-time producer for another company. But my work with them is still sending me royalties!! Not much, but better than 0. If you’re serious about sync licensing, take Jessie’s course, network, and learn and work on your music as much as you can; and I’m certain it will turn profitable. Cheers!!

thank you so much for the course. I just recorded an album with my Spanish guitar duo, and it is instrumental so I think I could find placements. But I know nothing about this side of the industry. It is so kind of you to share your knowledge with us!

Glad to have helped and congrats on the success of your KZbin channel - very impressive! And yes, Spanish guitar music can DEF get TV and film placements in this industry.

Jessee! as always great posts! Quick Question, do you have any tips for syncing your music outside of libraries for songs that are with vocal content? not just instrumental tracks but songs that are on spotify already, etc. I guess more tailored for singer/songwriter stuff? I know you focus a lot on instrumentals and music that necessarily is more about making 2-3 tracks a week. hope youre well!

Thoughts on using CD Baby’s sync licensing service? I’m trying to choose between sticking with CD Baby or going with an exclusive offer from Music of the Sea. Thanks so much!!
@music7studios Жыл бұрын
Just chiming in here, I know this was a year ago but I personally have heard nothing good about CD Baby in any context outside of just manufacturing physical merch, including CDs flashdrives-etc. I would stay away from CD Baby PRO and other such services from them.

If we have like some singles on streaming platforms such as spotify, can we still submit those ? I know its a dumb question
@SyncMyMusic4 жыл бұрын
Not a dumb question! The answer is: it depends on the Library. Some companies will be ok with that and others won't - you just need to be transparent with your situation when submitting your tracks.

When you talk about 'albums', what do you mean? you are selling full songs to these people? I thought this industry was more about making little background tracks etc... interesting video, and makes sense in a simplistic way... of course this is how you should do it, now i just have to figure out if i have something somebody would want, and where the libraries are and what they need
@SyncMyMusic4 жыл бұрын
Albums are 10-12 tracks distributed by a Music Library. They can be instrumental or vocal songs (full songs). Enroll in my free course to learn more about getting started and approaching Libraries: www.syncmymusic.com/freecourse
@pielover-joe62902 жыл бұрын
Does it have to be an album?
@SyncMyMusic2 жыл бұрын
Yes, most Libraries these days will not accept your music unless you are presenting a full 10-12 track album.
