Pay for the extra insurance bruh...I rented a car back in April and I drove it all around Florida, then we drove it home to Pittsburgh Airport, but I made absolutely sure that my insurance covered every single possible issue with that car before I declined their extra insurance. I have worked in the oilfield for the last 13 years and if there's one thing that it's taught me is to ALWAYS CYA...Cover Your Ass no matter what. You may be an excellent driver with no tickets or accidents, but that doesn't mean the same for the person who's flying up next to you. Always remember to CYA, no matter what the cost. You could've paid the extra $114 for added insurance and someone rear ends you in LA traffic and totals the car, but you're covered. I was averaging 90 MPH on my way home with my family (which was literally just going with the flow of traffic), but anything or anyone could've happened, and still I made sure my ass was covered. No matter what, you HAVE to make sure yours is, ESPECIALLY in someone else's car.

You said yourself you watched him for 20 seconds with that blinker on, and he never moved there as soon as you start to speed up to pass and then he comes and he emerges had he hit you because you did not swerve out of the way they would’ve been found at fault for coming into your lane. That blinker was long enough to rule you did not think they were coming over because they had taken so long to come over you would not have been found at fault. now you are at fault because you swerved into somebody else regardless of what the meaning was you hit someone else so you are at fault for causing the accident

#11 - horrendous display of defensive driving by both drivers. Cammer did have ROW to that lane, but should have anticipated the thru-traffic in the adjacent lane possibly doing exactly that. There's no reason she couldn't have checked up just a bit to stay behind the thru traffic and confirm what they were going to do before committing to trying to pass them. Likewise, the rear thru-traffic driver should have been paying better attention and should have anticipated a place like that being higher collision risk. It's possible a B-pillar and/or C-pillar blind spot might have contributed to. But not following the flatbed driver so closely so one actually has time to do an over the shoulder traffic check multiple times helps a lot too.

#10 Pretty sure the speed limit on that road isn't 60mph. That other driver was a dumb @ss but that doesnt change the fact that if the cammer was not speeding, they could have avoided the accident. #12 This is a trend with people who own dash cams. Instead of backing off and avoiding a collision which i have done many many times even though the other car is in the wrong, some dash cam owners prefer to drive straight into a collision just because the other car was in the wrong.

People really hate letting other people merge in front of them. Id rather let a reckless asshole be in front of me than behind me. At least i have time to react to their recklessness vs them slamming into me or another vehicle (then me). Never understood the ego behind someone getting in front 🤷‍♀️
