My s14 had the same issue with cluster and lights and such. New fuses would be burned as soon as i put them in. The wire harness had multiple bald spots and around 10-12 wires where down to bare copper. I stripped the harness to expose any bald wiring. I then had to pull each cable 1 by 1 and tape it up individually. After doing all that my car was all good

The harness has wires that are exposed and touching each other each wire that is exposed needs to be covered Individually, the wires keep touching each other they gonna keep shorting

Try relocating your harness to the side of the wheel barrel instead of under. mines on the side so im not worried about messing with it & easier access

feel ya. I have a short in my S13 that keeps it from running. blew my ECU, a bunch of other stuff. on the DMM/tester, you want to use DC Voltage. should have around 12-14 volts. I've seen buddies have jackstands go through the floor where you are putting them. Try and put them on the frame rails, or at least use some type of plywood between the jack stand and the floor to spread out the weight.

At 6:37 grab a old license plate and use some self tapers to cover the harness. It’s flexible enough to bend but thick enough to shield the wires from the tire. It’s been protecting my harness on my kouki for years now
@Nonexsisting2 жыл бұрын
Don’t ever put a bigger fuse in there! You could cause the wire that’s causing the smaller fuse to pop, to catch fire since it’s not popping the fuse. Trust me I did it once and the wire fried big time and I had no clue about wiring all like that at the time. Just be careful man
@Johnnydang5542 жыл бұрын
I just learned about electrical in school, when your fuse keeps on popping it’s probably short to ground. So I would recommend checking your ground before testing anything else

Sunny, stop cutting corners, you need to open the wiring harness and check each wire and redo everything, my guess is open wires are touching each other and causing shorts.

definitely not a jacking point on the s13, would recommend jacking from side or at the tow hook end from the front so you dont bend your frame

From the other video where you taped up the harness I noticed you didn't cover the wires properly... Any section that has the copper visible needs to be taped up separately so that it has no contact with other wires

Take the led headlight bulbs out and put the stock bulbs back in. Maybe you a polarity reversed and it can pop a fuse. Take the whole wire harness and run it in the engine bay.

When a person gets coilovers, don't get a front lip. Get an air suspension or coilovers that have cups that work with air to raise the vehicle.

@guillermogarcia-ld7jz2 жыл бұрын
Had the same issue with my s13, was going crazy looking for the issue I did the harness tuck checked everything and it still kept popping the fuse. Turns out it ended up being a bad ground wire behind the radio the previous owner installed. It would show up as a ground but when the ignition was forwarded it would throw 12volts I say try it man it might be that
@aurimasmaldzius53452 жыл бұрын
Sonny! You need to patch up the wires and fix the short first, no amount of tucking will help with damaged wires. Isolate the individual wires and either replace the exposed wires one by one or if they are still intact; wrap with electrical tape or just get a new harness lol
@IsaacS8052 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if you just shortened your 'fix' explanation for the video, but you can NOT just tape around exposed wires to fix the issue. The wires rubbing against the tires is the initial cause, but most certainly you have some shorting in the sections you taped up. You have to make sure any raw wires (showing copper/missing insulation) are not touching each other inside the harness sections that you taped up. Make sure you unwrap that and verify that none of the raw wires are touching each other. Something tells me that's where your short is.

All the wires are exposed. You need to check for any breaks in wires. The wrap each wire separately so they aren't touching and shorting out.

Hey Sonny, take the electrical tape off and wrap the wires individually! They're exposed and touching each other. And never up the fuse! If the fuse didn't pop, the wire would catch on fire and probably the car too. Stay safe, love the video and motivational words! ❤

@WickedRay2 жыл бұрын
I knew he was gonna have this issue from the last video he posted trying to "fix" it. just putting tape over exposed wires isnt going to fix it. all the bare wires are still making contact with one another, if anything taping them together like that made it worse since now youre holding all the wires together. you need to go through every single stripped wire in that loom and tape it individually and then when each wire is seperated from the next is when u tape them all together to close the loom. that is a fire waiting to happen hes fortunate that fuse box is still doing its job
