The WORST RATED hotel in Scarborough - GRAND HOTEL.

IS THIS STILL A WORST RATED HOTEL IN SCARBOROUGH
I booked the cheapest room available in the Grand Hotel in Scarborough. when booking in at Grand Hotel, I was given a hotel room upgrade to a double bed with a window.
all I can say is the Grand Hotel in Scarborough is making massive changes, but a weekly check list is needed..

Hi Dan, Another entertaining video, I don't stay in hotels but very surprised the mattresses don't have protective covers for any spills, you can wash sheets but not a mattress, your review was fair and you finally give some praise so well done Dan! Cheers Mark!

I've commented on a few of these type videos and what I can't accept is that no matter how cheap a B and B or hotel is there is NO excuse for them not being clean. Pubes and body fluids are completely unacceptable......EEEWWWWWW 🤢 You do right to take a sleeping bag!

Thanks for another great video, always funny but makes everyone realise what is hidden in hotels. Yeah cleaners don't get enough time, I worked at holiday park and had 30 mins to clean caravan from top to bottom, no where near long enough

Hello Dan, the room looks very clean on the surface. But I couldn't brush my teeth without gagging in the drain stinks. There is a drain maintainer that cleans and prevents oder. I would sleep on the bed since it has a cover. Has far as the lady fluid, they can put the mattress in waterproof sack so fluids don't get on the mattress. But the plastic isn't comfortable to sleep on. There has to be some way to clean it, as you mentioned it happens often, and the hotels don't have the budget to keep replacing mattresses. In my opinion, that bug is way to big for a bed bug, also why on the curtain and not on the bed? Love the pigeon cute Thanks again Dan

Hi Dan wow what a beautiful building that could be a pot of gold imagine it back in the day! I can see their efforts but! Cleanliness is next to Godliness as they used to say! Now I’m not here to educate you but as a nurse I will tell you that blood stains new or dried have airborne pathogens 🦠 can pass on some very serious health problems! It's hard for the UK hotel industry as you mentioned in one of your previous videos people don't go to the seaside to stop in hotels anymore in the UK, so it is hard for them to have rooms to a decent standard if they haven't got money coming in. That being said as you said that room was a bargain for £45 and was a "decent standard". The only thing I'd say to include would be a bit more of the local area of the hotels you are staying in. . Almost some B roll of a walk round the local town. . You mentioned you wanted to visit the castle. . I think adding that to the video would make it a bit more interesting maybe. . However I stick around for YOU. . I'm here from the English Woodsman channel, as I like YOU. You are entertaining you have a funny way with words (in a good way). .I was laughing out loud when you said "ladies and gentlemen we have a runner" at the stain on the bed. . Go only knows what it was but you make the videos funny. Keep it up 👌👍

I stayed last summer and did five nights in room 216. I too was "upgraded" from a room without a window! I had asked for a room without a window because I had been warned about the seagulls and sure enogh there was one nesting just outside that started shrieking at 4:15am........ It is an old building, a listed building and it would be hugely expensive to upgrade the windows and can you imagine keeping them clean? Sadly that matteress was disgusting, but I only paid £34.50 a night in June, so cannot complain!

That is one beautiful hotel that grand staircase magnificent, yes things and cleaning do definitely need attention and mattress should be checked each time by the chambermaid and reported so they get changed, but overall it seemed pretty decent to me.

Hi dan in parts it looks like a nice hotel when go further on you can tell it needs more work to it the windows outside need clean also the bathroom needs looking at the sewage smell must be the toilet was clean the shower let it down the floor in the room was vibrating the mattress with red stain on it was bad why cant housekeeping check things like the mattress and all the things in the the housekeeping must be embarrassing also dan im a housekeeping in a care home i had 45 rooms clean i only got 8hours to clean understand with the housekeeping thanks dan another great video from Keith

I stayed there on a coach trip, my room wasn't that bad but there was a waterfall in the hotel the day I left as there was a huge leak, and my mum and dad have a poky plug 😂😂

I stayed at this hotel sometime last year and the room I had was decent enough think they had given it some TLC because the bathroom was clean and modern and the room was clean also. My only complaint is and it's nothing to do with the hotel or the staff. But I wasn't happy being woken up at 3am by some bloke banging and shouting on my door saying to let him in but he was nothing to do with me because I was staying there by myself and had a single room I was on the verge of opening the door and knocking him out. Anthony Joshua would be impressed am sure

Not a bad room. Dated, I had that wallpaper 😂Shame about the mattress. In our hotel there was a check list. And we had high standards. Believe me some of the guests were very untidy 😂

Housekeepers do report it to a higher authority. But ultimately, it is the manager's decision to organize the cleaning or purchase a new one. If they get a company in to clean the mattress, it costs quite a bit and you have to let the mattress air dry for a few hours. This kind of time they don't have, especially if they are busy. And most managers don't want to be spending ££££s on new mattresses. Slap a mattress protector on it and hope no one looks; job's a good one. In their eyes.

The public spaces are that bit 'grand.' Older hotels are bound to show their age as systems get sort of updated by whatever workers get the job. Anyone with the price of admission gets the room. Blood and urine on mattresses probably come with the territory: the maids should report problems and they should be replaced. I guess not so much in the case of your room.

Umm the "LADY PROBLEM" lol as you keep referring it. If you can explain how a lady (with presumably, a head, shoulders, V, Knees and toes. goes to bed and her V Problem occurs at her shoulder area of the mattress. Some people self harm or have accidents. That's not necessarily a lady problem.
