Okay, lets give some quick thought to this mans reaction... WE as metal fan act a lot like gate keeper to those that don't always understand, but (and understandably) its usually the vocals... And then no one gives a shit after... He at least saw the genius in the musicianship of the instrumentation in this piece as a COMPLETE NOOB... He gave his best and showed respect... PROPS!

So, just to flip everything you said on it's head you HAVE to check out pain remains parts 1,2 and 3. To the hellfire is a monster on it's own but pain remains is another beast entirely. It really shows the range and the depth and emotion that Lorna Shore can produce not only musically but lyrically as well. The songs are part of an album that is a complete masterpiece and you would be doing yourself a huge disservice but not at least listening to the first part. "Dancing Like Flames". On top of all that, it will make you cry so I would strongly recommend tissues if/when you watch it/them. The thing about deathcore or really any metal is that you have to give yourself time to digest what you just experienced, but eventually you'll be back. Once you cross the horizon to the dark side there is no turning back. (it's great here we have candy and such)

Lol. Blackened deathcore isn't for everyone. In fact, it's not for MOST people. The first time I heard Lorna Shore (this song, in fact), I bawled like a baby. And that's because they were a God-send to me. I am extremely hyper-sensitive. I also have sever misophonia. That means that I have to sleep with headphones on or I wake up to every little thing, and I'm usually very angry if I do. The problem is that most 'night time' music is too soft. I can still hear through it. Plus, it makes falling asleep hard for me. But most of the heavier stuff wasn't melodic enough to soothe me. Will Ramos and Lorna Shore were that perfect combination in which it was louder than my mind but quiet enough I could sleep to it. And I listen to them at night every night, and have ever since I discovered them. I get roughly 2 more hours of sleep a night now because of them, and my overall health has improved. Deathcore is different than what most people are used to. The vocals are considered another instrument, it's why they're so far down in the mix. Harsh vocals in general are like a dialect - it takes a lot of repeated exposure to understand what they're saying. Will Ramos is actually an S-tier harsh vocalist. He also has one of the most friendly and infectious personalities. You should check out the video where internationally-renown opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff (channel: The Charismatic Voice) took him to have a camera put down his throat, and even the leading scientists were amazed by Will's vocal capabilities. Then watch the one take he did of this song on his personal channel :) P.S. This song is about dying. Nice reaction. I wanted to get defensive, but that's just because they're so dear to me. Truth is, I can't. I respect your choice, and I appreciate your honesty. Big thumbs up from me. Thank you.

This genre is a major facet in my ability to maintain a happily productive life, it's like my gospel, but i accept that this style is kind of like 25 year scotch; some people can't imagine drinking anything else, some like it on special occasions, and some people just simply don't feel it no matter how many chances they give it. @sraines05 Жыл бұрын
I actually saw your reactions to those after the fact as well haha. Regardless of one's style preference, "gangster recognize gangster", there's a music tech with a channel, his name is Tank the Tech. He as well as some others stated it perfectly, no matter your preferred genre, there are some rare cases where someone puts so much of themselves; their pain, their strife, their respect, their soul into the craft that it will evoke emotion no matter who you are, and these guys crafted an absolute compositional masterpiece with Pain Remains. Again, it's rare to see someone clearly state where their lines are, have an experience, and then have the humility and honesty to admit that they changed their perspective. Thanks for being a good human and not sugar coating or pandering. Keep goin hard, brother.

Yo bud, excellent reaction! I gotta say though you get it. You may not have been ready for it, but you fully understood it. Which is awesome! To be completely fair, beat conductor through you in the deep end of the pool with this one. This song was voted best song of the year by many outlets within the metal community. Prior to the release of the song I'd say the genre of DeathCore had entirely fallen of my playlist, and was widely considered either a dead or dieing genre, but this song along with a few others that came out from other bands within the same time frame singlehandedly revived it. I promise you man this one was THE deep end, and if you choose to react to further songs (particularly if you read the lyrics along with them) you will not be disappointed. My next recommendation for you would be Lorna Shore - Pain Remains I - Dancing Like Flames Guaranteed tear jerker if you read the lyrics along with the video. Great reaction!

First off I would like to thank you for your honesty and for your reaction (watching people get shook is kinda fun lol sorry) Totally understandable that you didn't like it deathcore isn't for everyone Also... no the song is from the point of view of someone that is dying. And as someone that is also new to deathcore (like I've only heard only 5 songs from this one band and no other lol) you will be able to hear/understand what they're saying after a few listens I would recommend watching (either on your own or as a reaction) the video "the charismatic voice" did with will ramos (the current singer of lorna shore) in which they visited a research facility and put down a camera down his throat to see how he makes these sounds! It was fascinating how the scientists were shook and how they discovered that he has no damage whatsoever to his vocal cords and is in perfect health which broke a lot of beliefs that doing harsh vocals will definitely harm your voice. Also I would recommend watching will ramos doing a cover of sleep tokens song "hypnosis" (I would also highly recommend checking sleep token as well if you haven't heard them before no worries they mostly have clean vocals and the singer's voice is very soulful) to experience his clean vocals cause he has beautiful clear vocals and it's a huge contrast that will surprise you! As others recommended the trilogy pain remains is also very good if you wanted to check out lorna shore it is very emotional and I highly recommend watching the video that has all 3 parts together with the *subtitles on the screen* cause imo having the lyrics and being able to understand what they're singing makes the experience even more emotional Another recommendation (for my amusement not for you to enjoy lmao) would be the one take vocal recording that will ramos has uploaded on his channel of this song you reacted to I'm sure that'll surprise You even more cause you realise he actually makes all these sounds with his voice without any layering or edits and seeing how relaxed he is while singing is actually mind-blowing imo Again thank you for your reaction and honesty take care (Also sorry for any mistakes or misspellings english isn't my first language and it's currently 3 am so I'm more prone to mistakes...)

@Andrey.Ivanov Жыл бұрын
This type of music is definitely an acquired taste. 3 years ago I couldn't imagine myself listening to something like this. Even if you are into other types of metal this can definitely be overwhelming at first. A few tips I can provide if you want to get used to this are 1) listen to more music that combines clean and harsh vocals, like metalcore for example 2) Pull out the lyrics for the songs when you listen and find a song in which you like the lyrical content, it would help appreciate the vocals. For Lorna Shore I would suggest their Pain Remains trilogy 3) In the case of deathcore you can try to think of the vocals as essentially another musical instrument, rather than expect what you would for other genres 4) Look up more about the artist. A lot of metal musicians may seem like overly aggresive, scary and offputting people upon first listen but that's usually only because they emulate a certain energy for the sake of their art. I personally found that it was sometimes easier for me to connect with the music when I find out that the artists are just normal people, often with great personalities. In the case of Lorna Shore, Will Ramos is nothing like you would imagine after just hearing this song. He is a very fun and lighthearted person (HUGE golden retriever energy). An interesting thing that you can check out is a video on the charismatic voice channel where they invite Will to have a medical camera placed into his throat in order to see how he creates those vocals. If you want to hear something else from him that doesn't sound like this I suggest you check out his covers of "Hypnosis" and "Chokehold" by sleep token on his personal KZbin channel.

On why you dislike the vocals: the typical use for a scream in humans is to communicate pain or distress or fear, we've evolved to have a negative emotional response to those types of frequencies, so when you hear them in this song your brain interprets them in that instinctual way and tells you something is not right. The more you listen to this type of music the more this instinct dampens, and when it finally does go away, that's when you can really listen to the music and understand why people enjoy it as fervently as they do.

That being said, this song is kind of the obligatory starting point for obvious reasons. It's just a fucking wild song especially the end. Truthfully, for you, we should have started at Pain Remains Part 1 or Sun//Eater or maybe even Immortal, but that's less current and not the same line-up(different vocalist). People are gonna beg you to do Pain Remains 1 now though, so you should probably just give this band one more shot and check out that trilogy. It's as far different from this as can be while still being in the same band/genre. I see you being a little curious about the vocals. I really think you should take a look at one/some of the one-take vocal performances that the vocalist has done for their songs or the "The Charismatic Voice" video done on him with the throat camera, like another commenter mentioned. A little insight for me, I'm similar to another commenter with the hyper-sensitivity issues and misophonia. Having heavy, fast, melodic metal is amazing for my ears so I can tune out all the noises I don't need to hear. My brain also goes fast all the time, so slow music, music that repeats too much, or doesn't have enough layering is completely unenjoyable for me. Some of it activates my fight or flight system. Like, sometimes, if I'm out in a store and a certain song starts playing, I just have to leave and play something else. It sucks and that damn song will probably still be stuck looping in my head for a bit. Though, sorry, not sorry for throwing you in the deep end, I'm slightly sadistic like that. Hope you enjoyed! ^.^ P.S. I do take slight pride in the fact that I made you just sit jaw-dropped most of this. Most of the reactions I've seen from you, you're very animated and like to boogie around your room and such if you're really feeling it. Not this one. Just O.O the whole time.

Thank you for the recommendation honestly 😊. I respect that you were aware I wouldn’t like it off the bat aha yes it’s very out there. That has started to happen. So I’m being asked to do those recommendations/songs that you mentioned. I would have ti consider it but the comment section is definitely wanting me to react to more of them. Ohh I see wow - how very interesting. And yes I am normally running around my room but as you said I was just jaw dropped 😂. I’ll have to think about another reaction 🤔

@@KaireemReactions You could either do the Pain Remains trilogy or you could do a double feature where to do either Sun//Eater or Cursed To Die, and then watch the vocal one-take afterwards. The vocalist has posted one-takes for both of those songs, though Sun//Eater is the way more difficult(technicality wise) song. The drummer also has some playthroughs, as well as the bassist and guitarist, but I figure you're most confused//curious about the vocals. P.S. none of the suggested songs are as ridiculous as To The Hellfire. To The Hellfire was meant to be a statement as it was the first single with their new/current vocalist. At least that's the impression I get. I mean, don't get me wrong, they're still insane, but not To The Hellfire insane, a lot more melody going on. The only songs they've done that are as ridiculous as To The Hellfire are Welcome Back O' Sleeping Dream and Into The Earth.

Understandable. A few years back I would've stopped listening the moment he started singing. Nope. Not into that. These days I love it. I remember someone saying that the voice is more like another instrument with such vocals. There's a lot of truth there. It's not a song to sing/scream/grunt along with but damn he's got skills. Pretty sure he has asthma too. Never doing Lorna Shore again. 😆 Sees a link to you reacting to Lorna Shore again. Watching that next. Looking forward to your Slaughter to Prevail reaction. No doubt many people have mentioned that. We'll make a metalhead of you yet 🤘.

I feel like the people recommending songs like this aren't really thinking. This blew up amongst metal reaction channels a while back and personally I like it but this is by no means a good recommendation for people who don't listen to metal lmao. Part of what made it popular was how extreme it was. The first time I listened to it I hated it

Lorna Shore slay in what they propose tho but whoever recommended it to you should know not everyone likes the same kind of music (specially To the hellfire, this song was considered one of the heaviest ever). Deathcore is kinda too much even for metal fans (and this is the only deathcore band I listen to tbh and I'm into heavy metal for like 30 years now). But I really appreciate you honest reaction because in the middle of the chaos you can recognise the talent. Little bit sad you don't want to react to them ever again, their Pain Remains trilogy is a super emotional trip, also their vocalist, Will Ramos, besides being A SUPER NICE, AUTHENTIC, FUNNY, SWEETHEART guy, is really good a clean vocals as he showed at his cover of Sleep Token's "Chokehold", it worth to check even if you're not gonna react to. Anyways, thank you for you reaction ❤

Lol, this kinda stuff is more the deep end of heavy, for sure. Not really everyone's bag, and understandably so. You might like something like Wax Wings by Periphery. Apmost exclusively clean vocals with awesome technical metalcore instrumentals that never skimp on melody. Definitely worth looking in to.

Yeeeeeah...this is like being dropped on to a max speed treadmill...you got to be eaaaased into music like this...back in middle school my friend was super smart he will give me cds to listen to and see what i think. So 1st it was linkin park, loved it rock/metal with a bit of rap fell in love with it. Then let the slow corruption kick in... he would show me disturbed, then my 1st introduction to screaming with avenged sevenfold and Killswitch engaged. Nothing to crazy but its the next step up. Then slowly fadeout the singing into full screaming with stuff parkway drive, by then im completely desensitized to screaming then get dropped into the deep end...whitechapel, suicide silence, black dahlia murder and then i got hooked and couldnt get enough. You gotta learn how to walk before you can run lol hate when people do this to people like yall

Loved to see the reaction, and I can get not enjoying the vocals at first. Harsh vocals are an acquired taste, one that you acquire bit by bit, and it also takes an incredible amount of talent for Will Ramos and other vocalists to effectively be able to use parts of their throats as extra vocal cords, and make an echo chamber out of their mouth. If you like the instrumentation, I highly recommend starting from something like pantera or slipknot, and then working your way up through Lamb Of God or Gojira, and eventually until you can appreciate the vocals of heavier music as well.

Yeah you went to the deep end of deathcore. You probably would have appreciated it more had you worked your way up to it. It's like lifting weights. You don't just get on the bench and try to press 400 lbs. It's just too heavy. You have to work your way up to being able to lift that weight, and some people never get to that point. This type of metal is the same, except you tried to bench press a bus lol. No worries mate. An honest reaction is still a good reaction. Thanks for at least trying, sitting all the way through it, and giving us your opinion. Cheers from America mate. 😊
