Mama Melrose is usually pretty good. As a native Brooklynite, no one is beating the Italian food here.. BUT this must have been an off-day, as I've eaten there many times and it's never been bad.

Ok , after watching this video what I noticed that you didn’t miss a beat as far as putting everything down . Everything no matter how small was a put down . Not enough seasoning to much seasoning not the right bread , not the right style of butter ( other places served it with salt ) I agree with Hope and Nate . We have been there a couple of times and have had a nice relaxing time . We enjoyed the Salad 🥗 the bread was nice and warm and we liked the oil that it was served with . Our entrees were decent . I had the steak and it was cooked to our liking and was seasoned very nicely . My husband had Italian . He liked it …. It’s Italian . Could I cook it better at home ? Absolutely !we ordered the tiramisu for our dessert which was so good ! It was flavorful and light and perfect for walking the park . If your not liking a meal , let the server know from the beginning, they can either remake it or make you something else . I have always enjoyed your videos, but this one not so much , because it’s was as though from the very beginning you were ready to dislike everything . Felt Hope and Nate were being a bit more fair about it all . But in the end I felt you redeemed yourself , as you said maybe you ordered the wrong thing or it wasn’t your taste and that you weren’t telling guests not to go …. Now the restaurant that’s not my favorite ( but I know others enjoy it ) is Tony’s in MK yet my husband enjoyed it , but I know I can make much better meatballs then they can 😂 cheers 🥂 to having different taste buds !

I agree with you wholeheartedly! The last time I went there I had hands down the worst meal that I've ever had at Disney World. Aside from this, the waitress dumped an entire pitcher of Coke in my lap by accident during the meal. So, not only was the food atrocious my entire lap was soaking wet the whole time. With that said, all that I tasted was pure garlic in my dish. I guess we keep going back because we keep hoping it will get better. But, I'm glad that you highlighted how deficient this restaurant is....By far, on my scale it is the absolute WORST! Thank you for an excellent review!

We used to love eating at Mama Melrose before seeing the Osborne Lights. I can see now that it’s lost its touch. You’re right about chicken parm…it should be a cutlet over the pasta, and not look like that. Promise is right too, that we could make it at home (and better). Thank you for the honest opinion ❤️

I got the minestrone, shrimp campanelle, and a tart when I went. I really enjoyed the shrimp campanelle and tart. Minestrone was pretty whatever and nothing special, but good. definitely not the worst place. Kids also liked the food.

I have heard many others say those 2 are the worst restaurants, but now it sounds like Mama Melrose has those honors and Tony's has improved. I want you to go back to Round up Rodeo to see if food has improved since opening day and if it takes less than 3 hours there.

We went to MM last year and we thought it was good. Maybe you just went on an off night. This year I am trying Tony’s for the 1st time in my 20+ years of going. I never tried it due to the reviews but recently the reviews have been positive. I mean, it’s not gonna be like my hometown Italian restaurant, but it’s better than a burger.

NO Italian restaurants in Disney are great. I mean - it shouldn't be this hard. How can you not toss the pasta in the sauce instead of dumping it on top? Why not take the extra step to pound the cutlet down. Hell - I won't eat at or pay crazy prices for any Italian restaurant unless they make their own pasta. Which by the way, isn't very hard to do at all. It shouldn't be this hard, Italian food is known for its simplicity in ingredients and preparation. This makes me so sad. Mama Melrose, Tony's, Tutto Italia, and the ones in Disney Springs (Maria & Enzo, Terralina) all stink. Trattoria al Forna for the most part is decent, Via Napoli is good (pizza only), and Topolino is top-tier. I am glad for this review as now I'll just have to go to 50s Prime Time for the Fantasmic package since Sci-Fi is also terrible and overpriced now too. Even 50s Prime TIme needs a menu update and the consistency of quality has also waned. It's like every since covid, the idea is to cut the menu down to nothing and know people will still overpay for the food. ALSO, GIVE ME BACK MY ROOM SERVICE. There is no excuse that $250-700 per night resorts don't still have it yet. Disney's new methodology is to cut as much stuff for guests while raising the prices and as a DVC Owner, it's horrifying.

We were there in June. Got the pizza and chicken Parm no pasta a salad. Your Parm was really THICK. WOW! my daughters wasn’t bad. The pizza was good. I’ve had better. I don’t think I’d go back unless the fixed their food.

Thanks for the brutal honesty 😂 Every year we try again cause of the stellar reviews from other vloggers...it's been a huge fail the past few trips. When we do a girl's trip, my husband will go to our favorite pizzeria (in NY) and we will have a "sauce off". They always win so hard...this last trip the cook in NY recreated the dish we had at MM, and I quote, "the right way" while the rest of the staff laughed about the Chef Boyardee 😂😂😂

they didn't even give us menus when we went and nobody told us we where supposed to see the menu online so we where waiting for menus for like 10 mins before we where told to see it online. overall the steak was dry and a new York should not be dry with all the fat it normally has I've never had a dry new York strip, but the mac and cheese was very good with pancetta

Ugh, the strip steak looked SLIMY with oil. 🤮 How can they get this all soooo wrong? That should’ve been a dill pickle with the calamari like dill tartar sauce without the sauce. The thin crust was too thin and looked like it was overworked. The herbed oil with bread service should’ve been flavored olive oil, as in fresh spices and peppers marinated in the oil instead of dried spice poured on top. I could keep going... 😂
