Bicyclists are conservative, is what Ive found. Ive got 3 sets of these big honking catalyst pedals, they really work well and support a lot of my foot on landings and etc. I have to pedal mid foot due to bodily issues and these pedals make it very do-able. Other mt bikers see em and just have to laugh, no way could they work, they arent the same as other flat pedals. I think they're scared of having something that looks different. I use half the amount of pins that could be used, and use the long pins. Works great for me. I wish catalyst would build a composite version to shave weight, but they wont.

Mine were just installed by my local bike shop. They save me time and aggravation from flipping the pedals over. My next trike will have Catalyst Pedals on delivery.

You just use regular raceface or whatever pedals. Buy a pair of vans to wear. Stiffer shoe and lets you ride mid foot.

On my two road bikes, gravel bike, and hardtail MTB, I have Bontrager Elite platforms and I ride in Vans Ultrarange EXO shoes. Perfect combination.

Now try them with crocs.

I actually have ridden in crocs! I’m more happy with the standard of 5.10 free riders for foot protection and stability on the pedal.
