Hey Teacher T. I did the Hagon shocks upgrade and they work great for me. But the roads in Algarve are just better than Thailand's. After one year, I still love my Super Meteor to bits. Happy new Year

A first bike. Wow. Ride steady and safe. I had to start in the UK with a 50cc, then a 125,cc, then 250cc before I eventually got a Ninja 600. Ride safe. Check those mirrors. Happy New Year 👌🙏

The only thing I changed was putting YSS shocks on. I love the bike1 I started riding in 1961 on a 1956 Royal Enfield 500 cc twin so I have come full circle in 63 years of riding!

@@Teacher-T-Thailand Well It was Imported under the Indian logo till 1959. The model I rode was called the Tomahawk. Had a Hi Fi Purple gas tank ,gold frame and white solo seat and pillion pad wit alloy fenders. Had hot cams and I put twin Del0rto carbs w/ remote float bowls on it. Was a pretty good little runner!

That Honda sounds amazing. I also suggest to upgrade the pipes of your Supermeteor like I did: Rhino Racing from Bykology is supurb. For more comfort the Royal Enfield mini floorboards are also a thing to consider. Happy New Year.

Ha! The same thing happened to my Suzuki Boulevard when I bought the Classic 350. Although my Suzuki is set up perfectly for cold weather riding with a large windshield, lowers, chaps etc. When it dips below 5 deg C it’s too cold for me to ride the Classic. I’m thinking the Super Meteor will eventually replace the Suzuki simply because I like the RE 650 parallel twin a lot better than the Suzuki 800 V Twin. If I do that I will set up the Super Meteor similar with floorboards, a batwing fairing, lowers, etc not only for cold weather riding but less wind noise for my wife and I when riding in the warmer weather. Keep up the good content on your videos.

Ha ha, The power of an Enfield. It is a good engine. Even cold in Thailand now. 30 degrees day time dropping to 15 degrees night time, which feels incredibly cold the the locals 🔥👌🙏

I’ve been waiting a year to pull the trigger on the Super Meteor 6fiddy as my first bike and watched you from the beginning. Congrats Teacher T! One thing I’d like to know is your purchase experience, how much over MSRP was the Super Meteor? Did you finance or cash buy? How do you feel about either or?

It was a very expensive cash sale for me. Teacher wages in Thailand are very low. And the price here is the same as a UK price. So it literally took a solid years wages. I had to sell my Meteor 350 and struggle for the rest. Finance is never a good thing in Thailand as the rates are to high, and periods too long. Hope you find a way soon. 🙏

It's not just cheaper RE bikes that have this issue which shouldn't ever exist on a bike sold as a comfortable tourer. My Moto Guzzi California Touring Edition 1400cc bagger style 2 up tourer which 2 1/2 times a RE 650 Super Meteor has the worst rear suspension I have used. Great on billiard ball smooth roads, but anything even resembling a bump would blow through all of the travel in an instant and smash your back and kidneys. Upgraded suspension transformed the bike and now it's plush and smooth over 99% of roads. But why was such a premium bike ride with junk suspension? Same reason as RE did. Because accountants and marketing departments have too much control and engineers are ignored to save a few cents on the dollar as they say.

You are not the first to say this about accountants. And I think there is some truth in it sadly. I think most of the suspension budget was spent on the inverted Showa front forks, leaving little money over for the rear. It’s a real big mistake. You MG sounds fantastic.
