That's not a timeout. The point of a timeout is to teach the child to make better choices. The kid is learning nothing if they are LOCKED in some dark room. I also didn't see her communicate to her child what it was she even wanted her to do (also, you can't punish a 3-year-old for simply not enjoying a dance class).
