Not only does it depend on the driver, but FD cars are designed specifically to drift, so that means anything from the engine, to the differential is completely changed and the only thing that might be left stock is the body and maybe with a couple modifications to it

Having gone to beginner drift events, the mustang is a lot harder to drift stock compared to the other cars at the event. It would be all understeer until it was oversteer in an instant, then it is finding the exact amount of gas needed to maintain the drift, which is a lot harder than you might think in this car. Of course if the mustang is set up for drifting, they can be one of the best for power drifting corners, but stock its just not what they are for. Totally understand why there are so many accidents with these cars considering most are inexperienced drivers

Owning a Mustang has shown me that the Mustang's rear end isn't the friendliest to inexperienced drivers. Its a rwd front engine, so sure the ass kicks out. But the way it kicks out and the stock suspension setup makes it kick out hard when upset. All to say the solution is to let off the gas and countersteering, which doesn't happen much with inexperienced drivers, typically the kind of drivers who would buy one of the most affordable "sports" cars you can get.

The reason most mustang drivers cant countersteer is mostly because: its (used to) be a cheap muscle car anyone could get, so new drivers wanting to seem cool would purchase the mustang and then try to show off but then end up running over a crowd or a barrier. [Speaking from experience]

I remember some high schooler talking shit about my 335i at the gas station one day saying it sounded like it was leaking something, he was driving a 328 of the same generation. The sound he was referring too was my blow off valve which I installed after upgrading the turbos and getting it tuned….. he thought I was lying about it being a turbo car because he couldn’t see it when I popped the hood (I was showing him what the noise was from cause I was bored and was in the mood to talk about everything I’ve done to it) the stock turbo location is on the bottom of the engine basically.
