Man, its scary how proficient these workeres are around the machinary, but also scary to think of how easily you can be maimed with just a small lapse of attentiveness.
@philochristos Жыл бұрын
It makes me wonder about the training period. I mean do they run the machines slower while they're training, or do they just throw them in there and see what happens?
@aznexile602 Жыл бұрын
@@philochristos I dunno, I'm sure there is a mix of both when it comes to being trained and those who are not. When I visited China I did notice alot of people missing arms, hands, fingers. Can't help to think some of them may have gotten maimed providing cheap labor.

These Chinese production line workers are so skilled, especially the ones running press cutters and stamping machines. I have worked in factories, but in all honesty, I don't think I could handle 40 hours of doing that every week for a living.

If you ever worked with a hydraulic press you know how dangerous it can be. It looks great with the skill of some of these operators but I saw a lot of fingers and an arm taken off with a press. It was not mine but the clean up was something I will never forget,
@livens100 Жыл бұрын
My Dad used to work in a steel stamping plant in the US, back in the 80's. He wore special gloves that had thin cables attached to the cuff of the glove. When the press came down it would pull your hands out of the way. But this would lead to workers relying on the machine to pull their hands away and several times the cables would slip off and the worker couldn't move their hands fast enough. He knew alot of guys that had missing fingers from that job.
@jackmclane182611 ай бұрын
Most of these videos are from countries where a life isn't worth much. If your worker didn't pay attention, he just gets replaced by the next teenager that still has fingers. Work safety does not need to be as excessive as we do it - which is almost preventing getting work done sometimes. But this is why people started to think about work safety. They just never stopped as there is money to earn. And the boards writing the standards are full of representatives of companies making the safety equipment. Have a guess in what direction the safety standards are going to go each updated version of a standard?

Theres a reason why your made in china products are so cheap. No extra money is spent on safety. Something to think about when you buy all the cheap made in china stuff, at the cost of laborers health and safety.

This is a very interesting video. One concern is that there are no safety devices in place to prevent people from getting hurt when they place parts on the machine and operate it. Such devices are so expensive that they will not be installed. We need to know that our affluent life is supported by the people who work in such dangerous places.

Wait what I’m confused
@therickening73233 жыл бұрын
@@not4coforyou375 If you haven't worked in engineering or mass production its kinda hard to understand. The goal for companies and producers of *product* is to use as absolutely much as possible when cutting those materials out so that there is almost no waste left over. So if you have a 3ft x 3ft square of metal, the goal is to use as much as humanly/machinely possible to cut down on leftover product. You only want like a square inch left over. The fact that the person eyeballed it, is incredible lol
