Jim Cornette has real affection for Dusty. Listening to him talk about Dusty is always nice. He has a lot of reverence for The Dream. RIP Dusty, you were a big part of my childhood and we will all miss you!

Poor JR lost his Wife and Best Friend. But its Cool to see Dustys Kid. Cody giving back and setting JR up to be Commentator again.

When I was listening to JR I was like "man it takes someone dying for JR to not somehow find a way to mention football" aaaaaaand then he still mentions football. LOL!

Indeed, & definitely props to Cody. He's making Dusty proud every day. I nearly cried watching the Cody v Dustin match a while back.

"risty bidnez, haard times, pain blues and agony...livin on dee edge of duh lightnin bolt Jack ..if you will..if you will!!!". Arguably the best mike skills of his day (gotta throw Flair in the mix) and an astronomically charismatic performer..largely quotable..I will forever miss getting up in NC on a Saturday mornin and watchin "rasslin" all day. I COULD NOT WAIT TO HEAR WHAT THE DREAM HAD TO SAY!! Stellar.. absolutely stellar!!!

Ditto for me, man. Honestly, I don’t miss that many things from my formative years in NC since graduating college and moving away 30 years ago, but hearing The Dream speak on Saturdays is definitely one. 😭

I wish there was a love button for this. I would mash it a thousand times. He was my hero, by far. Saw him in Atlanta at the CNN tower in the mid 90's. Sitting in an office waiting on a phone call. I walked by, and said to myself, wow, that's Dusty. Walked back by and he waived at me, I waived back, of course. To this day, I wish I'd have walked in there and shook his hand. I'm sure he wouldn't have cared.

Can confirm Dusty was beloved worldwide as well. He'd always sell out the venues when he'd wrestle in Australia. So much so, when wrestling in Festival Hall in Melbourne, Cody spoke about his dad wrestling there in the 70s.

During theses hard times it some how brings comfort for me to listen to the hard times promo. I am sure most people will think that's silly but it helps me. The American dream will live forever!!! God bless you all.

Growing up a teenager in 1980s Baltimore, l had what l thought was the best of both worlds. There was the glitz and glamour of the WWF, and there was the sheer athletic talent of the NWA, specifically Jim Crockett Promotions and Mid-Atlantic Championship wrestling. Was Big Dust the best wrestler on the card? Of course not. Was there a more athletic 280-300 pound man in wrestling? HELL NO. What Dusty did was make you believe. Believe in him, and believe that Ric Flair was gonna get his ass handed to him the next time Dusty got a hold of him. When l was about 16 or 17, l had the tremendous honor of being granted a 1 on 1 interview with Dusty for my school newspaper, and 1 of the questions l asked him was how easy (or difficult) it was to separate the wrestling business from real life. What he told me quite simple, but at the same time, not something you would normally think about. He told me that even though Dusty Rhodes made the money, Virgil Runnels still had to pay the bills. That's what l miss most about The Dream...he was a real person. The character didn't stray too far from the man. R.I.P Dream...Gone, but NEVER forgotten.
