Not trying to throw stones here, because we all learn better ways to do things as we progress through life. This is just an example of a simple change that can make a big difference on a piece of equipment being operational, or being shut down in the field. If you are ready to get your own Softwash equipment built by the industry leaders, let’s talk! www.southeastsoftwash.com/

@@jjsoftwashingllc2001 sadly there is already of people in the industry that aren't that mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot these issues and have to be helped alot or that pay someone to fix the issues and that gets very costly in many ways downtime possibly loosing the job and paying a tech but in an educational video helps them so they can learn to diagnose and repair there own equipment

That’s just one of a few issues with that design from a couple of these manufacturers. I built ours a couple of years ago with the header on the bottom and it doesn’t bypass through the manifold, other than me not tighten a union on the ball valve it has been on point with zero issues and it’s all full port valves, the sh valve is specifically made for sh. Great video.👍

I have to say, you can’t argue with this, especially with how common air leaks can be. Truth hurts but maybe this will improve quality control for them in the future. Leon has nice setups and what-not but if I went pre-built I would go with you guys any day. You guys do a great job, I aspire to be that successful one day.

Yea, we all have issues. No biggie just adjust and move forward. Air leaks are bound to happen but i sure wouldn’t want to build it in a way that basically creates problems inevitably

Yea...Leon started with a metering valve for the water. And then decided to try a regular ball valve. He was fine with the ball valve. He did mention closing it slightly. When you go out and get to work, you'll find the issues and you'll adjust yourself. Leon did a lot of trial and error testing on the gas diaphragm pumps and really put them on the map. People that know a few little things about their operation, operate them pretty trouble free. Of course if you buy a setup and have no clue about it. You'll have many frustrating days .

@@ronjclm8590 I agree. You’ve got to be able to fix stuff because even if it’s assembled perfectly and Rock solid, the nature of this industry is high on troubleshooting and maintenance.

That soap hose also needs a grommet because with all the different types of vibration and movement the aluminum plate is going to eat through that hose.

Matching metering valves sounds like the easy way to get equal draw. With a 12volt and 1/2 inch hose, I believe that you use 1/2 in metering valves on all the lines. On a 24 volt system or gas system. Would you use 1 inch valves on H2O, soap, & SH ?

Nothing. I was watching an episode of a new 24v electric pump the Southeast Softwash guy sells cost about $2k excluding the humungous batteries required to run the darn thing, I hate to think how much the batteries cost probably two lifetimes worth of gas, the big selling point was how quiet it supposedly is, then there was a demo and the electric pump was horrendously noisy. Cant beat the reliability, fuel efficiency and purrrrrr of a Honda imo.

It is definitely true, that even something built as best as it could be will still have issues in our industry. The thing is, if you can build it a better way, it will definitely reduce issues that are 100% going to happen down to issues that might happen from normal wear and tear. There is a difference between maintenance, and a design failure.

Cody you do have to meter the water. A portioned is supposed to produce a batch mix coming out the nozzle. IMO. Batch mixes require a percentage of water to chemical. 10:1 is 10 parts water 1 part chemical.
