I thought i was the only one but when I saw the comments I’m glad most of the people are with me. Yes, she’s talented, 17 with such voice. This might come with practices but I think she isn’t projecting her voice enough and at parts she needs to control her vocal i.e., the last part. I think this song might be too big for her, she could probably try something softer to start off with maybe next time!

Not sure what's going on this year, but the judges are heaping such high praise on singers whose voices aren't truly spectacular. Maybe the candidate pool is so shallow that this is the best of what they're hearing, but doesn't bode well for the show.

Her voice is REALLY beautiful, but she needs more vocal training. She does have a beautiful tone to her voice, but she has NO vocal or breath control. She's still young, so she can DEFINITELY get better if she wants to. She would have done better-singing something more suitable to her voice, like maybe Toni Braxton, or even Mary J. Blige. She has potential, she just needs more training.

I really don' t understand why people sing these sort of power songs anymore - they don't seem to sell that well, they rarely (cannot remember when one did) win and they have to compete against other people who sing it in such a similar way. They can illustrate a really nice voice, but they leave unique at the door.

Another one of those songs that Luisa Johnson has ruined for all others. Lanya's performance of it pales in comparison to what Luisa did with it. However, on its own, it's a, for this season at least, top-range performance. This is a song that, if you have the chops, you can really blow doors off with it. Lanya gives the impression that she has the chops (though, she can certainly refine those chops), but she didn't utilize the song to its full potential. Feels like she left it a lot under her limits. A shame.
