I just saw this episode last night and it made me cry like a fountain. It is a very touching episode, and it defines Mulder as more than just a fighter for truth. He is also motivated by extreme love, and the scene plays that out as his anxiety over her fate is transformed into release and relief that she was set free from the tortures being inflicted her on by the government/aliens. One also feels enormous compassion for the psychic dad, who cannot bring himself to accept his own son's fate. Anyone who has had a missing relative can truly empathize with this tragic yet beautiful scene. This video captures the essence of Mulder, his love and empathy for his sister, and personifies the side of his personality that was sometimes lost by the show.

Shit. Darn this scene and song really tugs at my heart strings. I cry everytime I see it, it's so emotional, hitting, powerful, and well written. I also feel Mulder's sadness to find his sister dead. And this is what makes the X-Files, the X-Files.

Closure is definately my favorite episode. The metaphor that it wrapped up on that episode and how much I cry every time I watch it, but this video is super amazing. Beautiful. And the use of the music is fantastic. Brought back tear and chills.

I’ve just finished watching Sam’s story arc. The idea of Starlight Children was a beautiful concept. Seeing Mulder finally, finitely reunite with her brought tears to my eyes in a most bittersweet way. This video perfectly encapsulates everything that I felt throughout that gorgeous two part story, particularly the end of it. A chapter in Mulder’s life, his family’s life, finally laid to rest. As he said: He’s free.

And also I really love this video as well. My dad and I used to watch this a couple years ago before I really watched the show. This year I finally went and watched all nine seasons, and both movies, and it was really great to see this video again because I remember it a lot from my childhood. I'm sixteen now

This is how it feels when you find your inner child that felt abused, abandoned and alone. I was born a woman in a male body, so it is visually relatable, because my inner child is not just that invisible girl hiding throughout the childhood, she is the child that was abused and raped in one of my past lives, condemning her feminity and sexuality, abandoning the worldly life and becoming a nun in a church, watching the last scene of this episode feels like I'm vicariously hugging her ethereal self, while she's releasing me from the karmic torment of separateness within me, becoming whole and free.

you're very welcome you did an amazing job in this vid, it's beautiful! I've been watching X-Files since I'm 5 so I've had the time to watch every episode at least 5 times but this story still moves me when I see it in videos like yours or Francephoeby's Mulder's demons. Both are really well done, beautiful esthetically and make me cry when I watch them and I love the Mulder's quote you chose in the beginning, it's one of my favorites :) I love anything related to the Universe :)

Im one of X files big fans.... from this video am I correct assuming that Samantha was abducted at the start, then in season 7 she was sent back to earth ,died then resurrected?......This video caused tears to flow, it was very good, thanks
@XFyellowbee5 жыл бұрын
Hi Michelle, sorry for the long time, the video follow the canon used on the X files according to Mulder and Scully's POV and investigation, and what I understood from it,(so please someone correct me or add something if I am wrong) but that's how I understood: Samantha and other children were abducted at the age of 8 by aliens in exchange for the Alien Embryo, that was needed to collect alien genetic material, eventually she was returned to the government airbase where they forced her in to a clone program, CSM seems to have raised her during this time. At the age of 14, She ranaway from the tests and went to a hospital, where a nurse took care of her, she was very weak in her death bed, when CSM finally finds her and they open the room to take her back, she had disappeared without a trace. During his investigation of the little girl disappearance, Mulder connects that maybe walk-ins took Samantha too, these entities normally summon children that are in extreme pain before they die and turn them into starlight. Mulder then sees the children and Samantha. Confirming his theory that Samantha now is starlight, he finally let her go.

this song makes me cry about my mothers death 6 years ago AND im not sure what exactly killed her and no im not saying aliens but maybe a monster as my father
@coreyde1007 жыл бұрын
Is it ever really explained why the Smoking Man took his sister? I mean other than to try and raise her as his own.
@XFyellowbee7 жыл бұрын
At this point, who knows? but originally I guess all the conspirators had to give up one of their children in exchange for alien material to fight colonisation, Mulder was originally meant to be given, but later on the father decided for Samantha. After she was taken, Samatha was brought to the CSM where she was used as test subject for many years till she died.
@veronicaaccouche14785 жыл бұрын
It was explained in Two Fathers, One Son, in Series 6; it also explain why Cigarette Smoking Man is always around. Samantha was a test subject. He had no emotional connection to her.
@onijclink9 жыл бұрын
so the smoking man killed samantha and there was no alien abduction? is that right? can anyone explain this to me, I was a kid when this aired and never understood what happened x_X
@taistelutomaatti9 жыл бұрын
+JC Vargas As Harold Piller explained to Mulder, when something terrible is about to happen to a child, occasionally spirits called "Walk-ins" interfere and transform the body of a child to pure energy, basically freeing their soul or something. Supposedly Samantha was abducted by aliens, returned to earth for extensive testing, she escaped from the airforce base where she was held, ended up in a hospital emergency room, and she disappeared from a locked room in the hospital when the smoking man was coming to retrieve her.
@jasoncook90388 жыл бұрын
The CSM made a deal with the aliens by giving up Samantha to buy humanity more time. she died because of being exposed to multiple years of testing by the aliens.
@fredkickingbird67816 жыл бұрын
She didn't die she was taken into the light. To spare her the indignity of being experimented on.
