I'm Australian. I won't pay $200AUD for an Ultimate Edition (like Star Wars Outlaws or Assassin's Creed). I very rarely pay $120AUD for a new release standard edition (Hogwart's Legacy was my last one and only because it was for my daughter). Otherwise I wait for sales. Although I did pay for the premium upgrade for FH5 and Indy. Games are just too much. Haven't played a GTA game since top down 1 and 2 way back on PC and I don't care about this release either... I feel like I may be the only one though?

They're not killing off Surface. It looks like they're maybe not going to have another Surface Studio at the moment. But the other products in the range are still actively developed for.

Microsoft did the correct thing by exiting out the so-called console war non-sense/focusing on becoming a huge publisher that builds and brings IP to every platform. The Xbox hardware will still exist for those who enjoy gamepass and other services.

Hey im fine with the strategy because im about great games in gamepass. Question is let say nintendo did the same strategy would it be a win or a detriment? If its all about money why won't nintendo and sony go in like Microsoft? Nintendo doesn't want to be worth trillions over night?

Nintendo has no internal infrastructure to support it right now, so it would depend entirely on how they rolled it out.

Xbox has the studios and has literally some of the biggest live service games. They're the ones holding the cards and people dont realize it.

i think Xbox strategy lately boils down to increase short term profit to keep investors happy. Even if it means less profits in the future. When Xbox has low hardware market share, porting first party games to the competition will give you short term profits but will also make you loose market share even faster. Then some years from now Microsoft will be wondering how come Sony, Nintendo and Steam are racking massive profits from their stores and Game pass is lagging behind Nintendo Online and PS plus

Great show! I kinda think people miss the forest for the trees regarding PlayStation and their strategy. The crew is right, PlayStation 1st party software doesn’t have a Nintendo level attach rate, and I’m sure Sony wished it did, But Sonys 1st party’s role isn’t just to sell the software, it’s there to also sell the brand and the hardware The bulk of the money is from 3rd parties that are available everywhere including Xbox. Sony want to ensure that when consoles go away, their brand will remain the de facto place to play, 1st party will benefit at that point when their games are everywhere

If xbox can get a remote play anywhere like steam has where you can play couch coop games online with friends that would be a game changer. Imagine playing older games like fusion frenzy with buddies even though the game doesn't have xbl or online capabilities? That would be crazy! Me and a buddy played an old og xbox game obscure together on steam I'm about 300 miles away from him and it played mostly flawlessly.

I'm interested to see Halo when it goes multiplatform and if it could compete with COD again, granted the fans will need to let them evolve the series and story crying cos they added sprint, but multiplatform could be huge for Halo.

Xbox is going in the same direction as android and Google. Android is the OS used by most mobile phone operators. However Google still makes their premium Pixel phones where as a user you get the vanilla and best experience of android with no blot. Pixel phones sell extremely well. Personally I would not touch a Samsung phone which has far too much blot on the OS.

Nintendo not as greedy as others? Making weaker hardware unlike the others just to make more of a profit, making a shit ton of remasters as well, dipping their toes into the $70 game range. Nintendo is every bit as focused on making money as much as anyone else. As for Playstation, unless it's a game that would tend to do better on PC I don't see them really wanting to go day and date with their console as they're very aware of how much that pulled back people from wanting to buy an Xbox console. We also need more Parris on...everything. He makes great shows even better.
