You may want to check out the mod _Civilians Revamped,_ it makes civilians on these retaliation missions run away from enemies and take cover, and removes the easy target stat that makes Advent choose to attack them over your units. It makes stuff like this a little more bearable.

FYI 40:30 the stun lancer ai went for melee attack but en route it was set on fire and characters on fire can’t melee attack so the game fixed it by moving and then shoting

Can we have a melee-only run of Chimera squad? Torque, Axiom, Zephyr, Cherub and Patchwork (technically not melee, but her Gremlin can zap enemies that get too close like bladestorm and can even zap enemies that YOU walk past). It would also be a great opportunity to show off the features of other alien species, like the fact that Hybrid, may they be Skirmisher or not, are almost as thicc as Vipers.

From my experiences of this game, it cheats very hard against the player. The fact that the enemy's path took them straight to the player is surprisingly common.😅

Unless you're on legend it actually cheats for the player by making the ai make bad decisions and waste turns. It also secretly gives you better aim and decreases the enemies.

The AI know where you are at all times, and the game always generates at least one pod of enemies between you and the objective. Then, when you kill that pod, it moves another pod to move between you and the objective. This is why when you're trying to sneak around a pod while concealed you'll notice they seem to follow you despite the fact that they shouldn't know where you are. It completely ruins any hope of actual stealth. Good thing there are mods to fix this though.

yo guys the number one mod for imersion and livining up fights idle suppression mod god its so good i know it effects frame rate but this a turn based game and the effects of your whole team spray and praying along with the enemy while you cycle through controling each team mate its just such a good feeling, it really makes the battle field feel alive how it works is your unites when not in your control will do simulated supression fire on nearby targets, and the anymy does the same to your unites, now these animations dont do damage to ether side theyre strictly to make it look like your team and the enemy are fighing all around the field even when you arint directly controling them, its cosmetic but it adds so much to livin up the fights, your still taking turns nothing game play wize has changed but it somehow feels more action packed and real.

Since you all are doing modded Xcom a bit more seriously Might I recommend trying out Mr. Cloista, Rustydios, and Iridar’s Mods and Mod packs? Mr. Cloista’s Covert infiltration Modpack is insane and Iridar brings back the rocket launchers from Enemy Unknown (they even work with the Vipers!) (Also Allies unknown has more alien races from Star Wars and Mass effect such as the Twi’Leks, Asari, and Quarians (note: look for the Redux Species versions of them for the full experience)
