Here's an idea. Instead of a case race, call it a case pace. Make it like power hour. Where every contestant has to knock one back every 10 minutes. So a case gets killed in 2 hours by a team of 2. If anyone bows out, then they're eliminated.

The problem with a case race is if everyone is actually trying you get too drunk too quick. What if it's not a race, but everyone involved has to drink a certain amount of beers in a period of time (like 1 beer every 10 minutes). The competition and scoring part would come from things like triva, pop a shot, building an ikea dresser, VR.
