The "Yard of Colors" continues its musical journey, with a tribute to the "Songs of Abroad".
The hospitable hosts, the journalist Athena Kampakoglou and the great composer, bouzouki master Christos Nikolopoulos, have dedicated today's show to the songs that accompanied the expatriate.
The expatriate and his own man, with the pain of separation, the emotion, the nostalgia, the anticipation, but also the longing to return.
Together with the great folk singer Pitsa Papadopoulou, the exceptional musician and singer Lakis Chalkias, the favorite folk musician Dimitris Kontogiannis and Dimitra Stathopoulou, a special singer of the new generation, "we unfold" this era of the 50's ΄60.
And we hear interpretations, tender, moving, melancholy but also hope, anticipation.
Christos Nikolopoulos remembers with nostalgia and describes the unique situations he experienced on his tours in America with Kazantzidis, in Germany and other places, with other great creators, entertaining the Greek community from the first years of the '60s.
At our table, they share their experiences with us, the actress Fotini Tsakiri who tells us about her upbringing in Offenbach, Germany, as a child of immigrants and the chef Giannis Geldis who, although he was born in Wiesbaden, his heart was always won by Hellas.
Our collaborator Costas Balachoutis - Author and Researcher of folk song, presents through his archive, in a concise and detailed way, how the misery of the foreign country, was reflected in the folk and folk song.
But also how "branded" folk artists, bouzouki performers, organ players left in the 50's, for appearances in America, for a brilliant "tomorrow".
