THE YELLOW WALLPAPER - PSYCHOLOGICAL TERROR story by CHARLOTTE PERKINS GILMAN - COMPLETE AUDIOBOOK
CHARLOTTE PERKINS GILMAN (1860-1935), is one of the most interesting North American intellectuals of the early 20th century. A prominent figure in feminism, she was a multidisciplinary writer who wrote poetry, journalistic articles, essays and short stories.
Her best-known work is “The Yellow Wallpaper” or “The Yellow Wallpaper,” published in 1892. This disturbing story was inspired by a traumatic experience experienced by the author after suffering a deep nervous depression.
The story, written in the first person, tells the story of a woman whose husband has rented an old mansion to spend the summer and where his wife can recover from what he calls a "temporary nervous depression." Discarding other rooms in the house, the couple settles in the old children's room on the upper floor, whose walls are covered with yellow wallpaper that will cause a worsening of the protagonist's state of health.
